AUTHORIZING THE DESTRUCTION OF SPECIFIED UNNECESSARY
RECORDS OF THE HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, State law permits a public entity to discard specified City
records after passage of time on written authority of the City Attorney and
approval of Council; and
WHEREAS, the Human Resources Department seeks to free up space by
discarding specified unnecessary records older than three years as referenced in
the staff report; and
WHEREAS, written approval for the destruction of the records has been
provided by the City Attorney.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Human Resources
Department is hereby authorized to destroy the specified records.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and
regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda during the Regular
Meeting of the City Council on the 21st day of July, 2009, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers deHaan, Gilmore, Matarrese,
and Mayor Johnson - 4.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Councilmember Tam -
ABSTENTIONS: None.
