AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE
SALE AND EXCHANGE OF REAL
PROPERTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUN-
CIL OF THE CITY OF AL:AMEDA:
Section 1. The Council of the City
of Alameda is hereby authorized to
sell to and exchange with Harold C.
Ward and Frances M. Ward, his wife,
the parcels of real property situated
in the City of Alameda, County of
Alameda, State of California, particu-
larly described as follows, to -wit:
PARCEL 1:
A portion of Lot 28, in Section 19,
Township 2 South, Range 3 West,
Mount Diablo Base and Meridian,
according to the Map entitled, "Sale
Map No. 10, Salt Marsh and T*de
Lands, situate in t;ae County of
Alameda, State of California," tiled
June 9, 1888, in the office of the
County Recorder of Alameda County
and of record in Map Book 17, page
30, bounded as follows:
Beginning at the point of inter-
section of the northeastern line of
Maitland Drive, as described in
Parcel 1 of Deed from Mary E.
Foster, a widow, to City of Alameda,
a municipal corporation, dated De-
cember 3, 1924 and recorded February
18, 1925 in Book 879 of Official Rec-
ords of Alameda County, page 464,
with the southern boundary line
of the northern 1 of said Lot 28;
thence at right angles to the said
line of Maitland Drive, north 56' 40'
30" east 110.00 feet; thence south
33 19' 30" east parallel with the
northeastern line of Maitland Drive,
72.33 feet to a point on the said
southern boundary line of the north
1,2 of Lot 28; thence along the said
last mentioned line, due west, 131.65
feet to the point of beginning.
PARCEL 2:
A portion of Lot 29, in Section 19,
Township 2 South, Range 3 West,
Mount Diablo Base and Meridian,
according to the Map entitled, "Sale
Map No. 10, Salt Marsh and Tide
Lands, situate in the County of
Alameda, State of California," filed
June 9, 1888 in the office of the
County Recorder of Alameda County
and of record in Map Book 17, page
30, hounded as follows:
Beginning at the point of inter-
section of the northeastern line of
Maitland Drive, as described in
Parcel 2 of Deed from Mary E.
Foster, a widow, to City of Alameda,
a municipal corporation, dated De-
cember 3, 1924 and recorded February
18, 1925 in Book 879 of Official Rec-
ords of Alameda County, page 464,
with the southern boundary line of
said Lot 29; running thence along
the northeastern line of Maitland
Drive, north 33° 19' 30" west 90.11
feet, more or less, to a point on the
western line of said Lot 29; thence
along the said last mentioned line,
north 0' 00' 40" west 200.28 feet
to a point on a line drawn parallel
with the northeastern line of Mait-
land Drive, and distant 110.00 feet
northeasterly therefrom, measured
at right angles thereto; thence along
the parallel line so-drawn, south 33'
19' 30" east 329.80 feet to a point on
the said southern boundary line of
Lot 29; thence along the said last
mentioned line, due west, 131.65 feet
to the point of beginning;
subject to Bay Farm Island Sewer As-
:,essment District Project No- 1; and
to receive therefor from said Harold C.
Ward and Frances M. Yard, his wife.,
as grantors, a grant, bargain and sale
deed, free and clear of all encum-
brances, to the real property situated
in the City of Alameda, County of
Ala.rneda, State of California, partiCLI-
laxly described as follows, to -wit:
A portion of Lot 28 of Section 19,
Township 2 Soui.li, Range 3 Nest,
according to "Sale Map No. 10 of
Salt Marsh and Tide Lands situate
in the County of Alameda, State of
California," filed .June 9, 1888 in
Map Book 17, at page 30, in the
office of the County Recorder of
Alameda County, bounded as follows:
Beginning at the southeastern cor-
ner of said Lot 28; running thence
along the eastern boundary line
thereof, north 0° 00' 40" west 275.57
feet, more or less, to a point on a
line drawn parallel with the center
line of Maitland Drive, (60.00 feet
wide), as said Drive is described in
Deed froin E. B. Stone to City of
Alameda, a municipal corporation,
dated December 9, 1,924 and recorded
March 2, 1925 in Book 899 of Official
Reco) ds of Alameda County, page
295, distant 140.00 feet, northeasterly
therefrom and measured at right
angles thereto, said last mentioned
point being the actual point of com-
mencement; thence north 33° 19' 30"
west along the parallel line so drawn
462.01 feet, more or less, to a point
on the northern boundary line of the
south 11 of said Lot 28; thence along
the last named line, easterly 131.65
feet, more or' less, to a point on a
line drawn parallel with the said cen-
ter line of Maitland Drive, and dis-
tant 250.00 feet northeasterly there-
from, measured at right angles there-
to; thence along said last mentioned
parallel line so drawn, south 33° 19'
30" east 222.46 feet, more or less, to
a point on the said eastern boundary
line of Lot 28; thence along the said
last mentioned line, south 0° 00' 40"
east 200.28 feet, more or less, to the
actual point of commencement.
That in addition to the grant, bar-
gain and sale deed herein referred to
said Harold C. Ward and Frances M.
Ward, his wife, shall pay to the City of
Alameda the sum. of $2,762.03, in cash,
for the two parcels of real property
first hereinabove described upon the
tender of a deed to said Harold C. Ward
and Frances M. Ward, his wife, by the
City of Alameda.
Each party hereto shall pay cost of
revenue stamps upon the parcel or
parcels of real property conveyed by
said party: title insurance and escrow
fees at the respective cost of each
party hereto.
Section 2. The Mayor of the City of
Alameda is hereby authorized and di-
rected to execute and deliver the deed
of the City of Alameda for and on be-
half of the City of Alameda, and the
City Clerk is directed to attest the
same, as soon as this ordinance be-
comes effective.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in
full force and effect from and after
the expiration of thirty (30) days from
the date of its final passage.

that the foregoing Ordinance was duly
and regularly adopted and passed by
the Council of the City of Alameda in
regular meeting assembled on the 20th
day of March, 1951, by the following
vote, to-wit:
AYES: Councilmen Anderson, Jones,
Osborn, Sweeney and President Bran-
scheid, (5).
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
