AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE
EXECUTION or A LEASE Or CER-
TAIN REAL PROPERTY TO THE
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND
APPROVING THE FORM AND
TERMS OF SAID LEASE.
WHEREAS, the United States of
America, hereinafter referred to as
the Government, has applied to the
City of Alameda for a lease of certain
real property situate in the City of
Alameda and inore particularly de-
scribed in the form of lease herein-
after referred to, for the purpose of
using same for military purposes, for a
term beginning September 1, 1951 and
ending June 30, 1956, at an aiinual
rental of $1450.00, payable in quarterly
installments of $362.50, the first pay-
ment to be inade on December 1, 1951;
and
WHEREAS, the use of said premises
is required by the Government for
the purpose of providing facilities for
the national defense; and
WHEREAS, a form of lease con-
taining the covenants and agreements
stipulated and agreed upon between
the City of Alameda and the Govern-
ment has been prepared and submitted
to this Council at its regular meeting
held December 4, 1951, marked, "Filed
Dec. 4, 1951," and ordered filed with
the City Clerk of said City;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT OR-
DAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ALAMEDA as follows:
Section 1. That the form of lease
referred to in the preamble hereof
and the terms, covenants, agreements
and provisions thereof be, and the
same are hereby, approved.
Section 2, That the lands described
in said form of lease be, and the same
are hereby, ]eased to the United States
of America upon the terms, covenants,
agreements and provisions contained
in the fore' of lease submitted to this
Council and filed and approved as
aforesaid.
Section 3. The Mayor of the City of
Alameda is hereby authorized and
directed to execute, and the City Clerk
to attest, as the act and deed of the
City of Alameda, a lease substantially
in the form and containing the terms,
covenants, agreements and provisions
set forth in the aforesaid form of
lease.
Section 4. This ordinance shall be
in full force and effect from and
after the expiration of thirty (30) days
from the date of its final passage.
