AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AR-
TICLE. 4, CHAPTER 5, TITLE II,
OF THE ALAIMEDA MUNICIPAL
CODE BY AMENDING SECTION
2 -541 THEREOF, RELATING TO
VACATIONS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUN-
CIL OF THE CITY OF ALANMEDA-
Section 1. That Section 2 -541 of Ar-
ticle 4, Chapter 5, Title II, of the Ala-
meda Municipal Code is hereby amend-
ed to read as follows:
Section 2 -541. Officials and Em-
ployees Entitled to Annual Vacations.
All officials and employees in the
continuous and regular employment of
the City, whose compensation is fixed
on a monthly basis, and. who shall have
been in the service of the. City for
not less than one .(1) year, and all em-
ployees employed on a per diem basis
who have been employed by the City
for at least 225 days during the twelve-
month .period immediately preceding
the commencement of the vacation
shall be allowed:
(a) In each calendar year, a vaca-
tion- with pay .pof ten (10) regularly
scheduled working days, computed on
the basis of a five -day work week.
In cases of employees working more
than a ,five -day work week, vacation
time shall be fourteen (14) : calendar
days.
(b) After ten (10) years of service
with the City, computed as in this see -

ployees shall be allowed annually a
vacation with ,pay of fifteen (15) reg-
ularly scheduled working days, com-
puted on the basis of a five -day work
week. In cases of employees working
more than a five -day work weep, the
vacation time shall be twenty -one. (21)
calendar days.
In all cases, if a holiday, other . than
Saturday, Sunday or Easter Sunday,
occurs within the vacation period of
said employee, he shall receive an
extra day of vacation for such holiday.
Section 2. This ordinance shall be in
full force and effect from and after
the expiration of thirty (30) days from
the date of its final passage.
