AN ORDINANCE RECLASSIFYING
PROPERTY . BY ADDING SECTION
70 TO ORDINANCE NO. 725 NEW
SERIES
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUN-
CIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA:
Section 1. Section 70 is hereby added
to Ordinance No. 725, New Series, and
shall read as follows:
Sec. 70. The real property in the
City of Alameda, County of Alameda,
State of California, described as fol-
lows:
BEGINNING at the intersection of
the southerly line of Encinal Avenue
with the westerly line of Court
Street, thence west along said south-
erly line of Encinal Avenue 117.54
feet; thence south, parallel with
Court Street, 160 feet; thence east,
parallel with Encinal Avenue, 58.77
feet; thence north, parallel with
Court Street, 52 feet; thence east,
parallel with Encinal Avenue, 58.77
feet to the said westerly line of
Court Street; thence north along
said westerly line of Court Street
108 feet to point of beginning,
is hereby taken out of the "A" One-
Family Dwelling District and reclassi-
fied to and placed in the "B" Two -to-
Four Family Dwelling District. The
foregoing reclassification is made for
the sole and exclusive purpose of per-
mitting the construction of a church
edifice upon the described real prop-
erty and shall be subject to the follow-
ing conditions. (a) Construction of said
church edifice shall be commenced
not later than June 1, 1954 and such
construction shall, from the date of
its commencement, be diligently prose-
cuted to completion; (b) In the event
construction of a church edifice is
not commenced within the time here -
inabove provided, the Council, of the
City of Alameda shall initiate pro-
ceedings for the reclassification of the
above described property from the
"B " District to the "A" District; (c)
Construction of contemplated church
edifice shall be substantially in ac-
cordance with the elevation and floor
plans heretofore submitted to and
approved by the City Planning Board.
Section 2. This ordinance shall be in
full force and effect from and after
the expiration of thirty (30) days from
the date of its .final passage.

the Council of the City of Alameda in
regular meeting assembled on the 16th
day of December, 1952, by the follow-
ing vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilman Anderson, Bran-
scheid, Jones, Sweeney and President
Osborn, (5).
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
