AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING CON -
VEYANCE OF CERTAIN CITY-
OWNED PROPERTY. TO GEORGE T.
HANSEN.
WHEREAS, title to the hereinafter
described real property was. for many
years prior to March, 1953, claimed
by George T. Hansen and his prede-
cessors in interest, in whose names-it
was assessed and from whom City
taxes were collected over said period;
and
WHEREAS, in fact, title to said
property. was, prior to 1913, .vested in
the State of .California and was by
the State, in said year, granted to the
City of Alameda as part of the tide
lands grant made by Chapter 348,
Statutes of 1913, as amended; and
WHEREAS, by Assembly Bill - No.
1047, enacted by the Legislature of the
State of California in its current (1953)
session; said property was freed of all
trusts and restrictions imposed, thereon
by any of the : provisions:.of the grant-
ing act and the City of Alameda' is
now vested with the unqualified right
to : own, hold, use, sell, lease or other-
wise dispose of same without : restric-
tion; and
WHEREAS, it is deemed by this
Council ' that,. in view of the long.
record of tax payments on said prop -
erty by George T. Hansen and prior
claimants of title thereto, justice and
the best" interests of the City. of Ala-
meda will be served by .conveying to
George T. Hansen all the City's interest
therein to permit of its being. in-
corporated within a residential sub-
division presently under development;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAIN-
ED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ALAMEDA;
Section 1. That the real property
situate in the City of Alameda, County
of Alameda; State of California, and
particularly described as follows:
A portion of Lot 24, in Section 17,
in Township 2 South;:Rainge 3 West,
M. D.. B. & M., according to the
Map entitled; "Map No: 2 of:: Salt
Marsh and Tide Lands situate in
the :County of Alameda; 'State of
California, " filed in the office of
the Surveyor General of the State
of : California, bounded as follows:
Beginning at a point. in San
Leandro Bay, distant 1320. feet
south and 660 feet west of granite
monument set on the east line of
Section 18, in Township 2 south,

Range :3 west, Mount Diablo Base
and Meridian, 2640 feet north of
the southeast corner. of Section. 18;
thence according to the true merid-
ian across tidelands north 420.42
feet to the shore line of San-Lean-
dro Bay at ordinary high.: tide;
thence along said shore line, north
42 ' east :35.64 feet to :a post
marked : 228; . thence north 5411
east 145.20 feet to a post: marked
277; thence north .36? z ° east :280.50
feet; thence across tidelands south
48 east 476.52 feet; more or less,
to the east fine of Section 18, and
the actual point of beginning of
the property herein described;
thence along said : Section line,
south 167.64 feet to San Leandro
Basin; thence along San Leandro
Basin; north 48° 06' east 130.16 -feet,
more or less, to the intersection
thereof with a line drawn south
48° 30' east from the actual point
of beginning; thence north 48° 30`
west along said line so drawn 129:36
feet, more or less, to the actual .
point of beginning,
be conveyed to George T. Hansen.
Section 2. That the Mayor of the
City of Alameda be, and he is hereby
authorized and directed to execute, on
behalf of the City; a quitclaim deed
transferring the City's. interest in said
property to George T. Hansen.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be
in full force and effect from and after
the expiration of thirty (30) days from
the date of its final passage.
