AN ORDINANCE RECLASSIFYING
PROPER'T'Y BY ADDING SECTION
72-TO ORDINANCE NO. 725, NEW
SERIES. .
WHEREAS, the Council of the City
of Alameda, in an adjourned regular
session held June 3, 1953, adopted
Resolution of Intention No. 4779 de-
claring its intention on its own motion,
to change the zoning of the real prop-
erty hereinafter described and ordered
therein that a public hearing on said
Resolution of Intention be held before
the .City Planning Board on June 17,
1953; and
WHEREAS, said Resolution of Inten-
tion declares that, "in order to carry
carry
out the understanding and agreement
of Congress Construction Corporation,
the City Planning Board, the City
Council and the West Alameda Associ-
ation as to the use of the Central
Avenue frontage of the Congress Con -
struction Corporation property and to
remedy the failure to carry out the
intent and purpose of the Council to
rezone said Central Avenue frontage
to the "A -1" Classification, it is neces-
sary to effect such rezoning at this
time "; and
WHEREAS, at its regularly sched-
uled meeting held Tune 10, 1953, the
City Planning Board was presented
with a communication from A. Hub-
bard Moffitt, Esq., Counsel for Con-
gress Construction. Corporation and
Alameda Bayside Construction Corpor-
ation, o ners of the hereinafter de-
scribed property, withdrawing any op-
position to the proposed rezoning,
waiving the public hearing set for
June 17, 1953, and requesting the City
Planning I.. jai d to act upon the matter
at its me c ti g of June 10, 1953, by
recommending to the City Council that
the rezoning referred to in the afore-
mentioned Resolution . of Intention be
made; and
WHEREAS, the City Planning Board
did, cn ,tune 10, 1953, act upon the re-
quest of Congress Construction Corpor-
ation and Alameda Bayside Construe -

lution of Intention No. 4779 from "C"
Multiple Dwelling to the "A -1" Classi-
fication; and
WHEREAS, the City Council, being
fully advised in the premises, has
adopted. the recommendation of the
City Planning Board,
BE IT ORDAINED . BY THE COUN-
CIL OF THE CI l Y OF ALAMEDA as
follows:
SECTION 1. Section 72 is hereby
added to : Ordinance No. 725, New
Series, to read as follows:
Sec. 72, The real property in the City
of Alameda, County of Alameda, State
of California, described as follows:
BEING a strip of land 100 Ave- eet
wide situate south of Central A
nue from westerly of Third Street
to easterly of Fourth. Street, and
further described, to -wit:
BEGINNING at a point which is
the intersection of the south line
of Central Avenue as shown on
Drawing 3968,. :Case .51 City Engi-
neer's files, Alameda, . California,
and the west line of that Parcel
No, 2 described in deeds recorded
in Boole 6166 of Official Records at
Page 505 in the Alameda County
Recorder's Office said point has
the coordinates of 'y=- 468,304.66 feet
and x- 1,483,401.84 feet as based on
the California Coordinate System,
Zone 3, as are all bearings, dis-
tances and coordinates in this de-
scription;
THENCE along the . aforesaid south
line of Central Avenue South 55
34' 54" East 110.13 feet to a point;
THENCE continuing along the said
south line of Central Avenue South
55° 36' 30" East 425.09 feet to a
point of curvature;
THENCE along the are of a curve
to the left having a radius of 445.23
feet a distance of 245.39 feet;
THENCE continuing along the
aforesaid south line of Central
Avenue 87° 11' 11" East 341.85 feet
to its intersection with the east
line of that Parcel No. 3 in the
above described deed;
THENCE southerly along the said
east line of Parcel No. 3 to a point
which is 100.00 feet at right angles
from the aforesaid south line of
Central Avenue;
WHENCE westerly along various
courses and distances all to be
parallel with and 100.00 feet south-
erly at right angles from the afore-
said south line of Central Avenue
to a point on the aforedescribed
west; line of Parcel No, 2;
THENCE along the said west line
of Parcel No, 2 to the POINT OF
BEGINNING;
is hereby taken out of the "C" "Julti..
ple Dwelling District and reclassified
to and .placed its the "A -1" One - Family
Dwelling District.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be
in full force and effect from and after
the expiration of thirty (30) days from
the date of its final passage. .
