AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE
ALAMEDA MUNICIPAL CODE BY
ADDING THERETO A NEW SEC-
TION TO BE NUMBERED 15 -111,
RELATING TO THE PREPARATION
AND COOKING OF FOOD IN
HOTELS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUN-
CIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA:
Section 1. That the Alameda Munici-
pal Code be, and the same is hereby
amended by adding thereto a new
section, to be numbered 15 -111, which
section shall read as follows:
See. 15 -111. 1:t shall be unlawful
for any person to cook or prepare
food, through the use of hot plates
or otherwise, or to permit the
cooking or preparation of food
through the use of hot plates, or
otherwise, in any bath, shower,
slop -sink or toilet room, or in any
other portion of any building in
which, in the judgment of the City
Health Officer, the cooking or
preparation of food is detrimental
to the health of the occupants or
the proper sanitation of the build-
ing.
It shall be unlawful for any
person to cook or prepare food,
through the use of a hot plate or
otherwise, or to permit the cook-
ing or preparation of food through
the use of a hot plate or otherwise
in an hotel, except in a kitchen

Or Other room designed for that
Purpose. As used in this .section„
hotel" has the same meaning as
defined in Section 15420 of the
California Health and Safety Code,
except that it may contain less
than six guest rooms, and it may
be occupied or intended or de-
signed for occupancy by less than
six guests.
Section 2. This ordinance shall be in
full force and effect from and after
the expiration of thirty (30) days from
the date of its final passage.
