AN ORDINANCE CREATING AN AD-
VISORY GOLF COMMISSION, PRO-
VIDING FOR APPOINTMENT OF
THE MEMBERS THEREOF, AND
PRESCRIBING THE POWERS AND
DUTIES OF SAID COMMISSION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUN-
CIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA, as
follows:
Section 1: There is hereby created
a commission which shall be known
as the Advisory Golf Commission of
the City of Alameda.
Section 2. The Advisory Golf Com-
mission shall consist of five (5) mem-
bers, all of whom shall be required to
meet the qualifications established for
membership on City Boards, and shall
be nominated by the Mayor and ap-
pointed by the City Council.
Section 3. Members of the Advisory
Golf Commission shall first be ap-
pointed in the following manner: One
for a term of two (2) years; two for a
term of three (3) years; and two for
a term of four (4) years; or until the
successor or successors of such ap-
pointees shall be appointed and quali-
fied. Appointment for the respective
terms shall be determined by the City
Council by lot. Thereafter, members of
the Commission shall be appointed for
terms of four (4) years, or until their
successors are appointed and qualified.
All terms shall begin on the 1st day
of January.
Section 4. Members may be removed
from the Commission by a vote of
four (4) members of the City Council.
Section 5. Vacancies in the member-
shtp, of the Commission shall be filled
for the unexpired term. The vote of
three (3) members of the Commission
shall be necessary for any act of or by
the Commission.
Section 6. The Advisory Golf Corn-
mission shall have the power and it
shall be its duty to:
1. Advise with the City Council on
all matters concerning policies of op-
erating the Alameda Municipal Golf
Course and such other golf course or
courses as may be established by or
under the jurisdiction of the City of
Alameda.
2. To investigate and recommend to
the City Council all matters and things
which shall promote the successful
operation of such golf course or
courses, all recommendations of the
Commission to be made and submitted
in writing.
3. To do any and all things neces-
sary to fully inform itself with respect
to the operation of such golf course
or courses.
4. To adopt rules and regulations for
the proper administration of the af-
fairs of the Commission.
5. To select from its membership a
Chairman, a Vice-Chairman and a
Secretary, who shall serve in such
offices for a term of one (1) year, or
until their successors are elected and
qualified.
6. To hold meetings for the transac-
tion of its business at such times as
it may fix by its rules.
Section 7. This ordinance shall be in
full force and effect on January 1,
1955.

AYES: Councilmen Jones, McCall,
Moresi and Vice-Mayor Anderson, (4).
NOES: None.
ABSENT: President Sweeney, (1).
