AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE
ALAMEDA MUNICIPAL CODE BY
AMENDING SECTION 2 -547
THEREOF, RELATING , TO AB-
SENCE OF OFFICERS" AND EM-
PLOYEES OF THE CITY BY REA-
SON OF DEATH OR CRITICAL ILL-
NESS IN THE IMMEDIATE FAMILY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUN-
CIL OF THE CITY OF ALA.MEDA:
Section 1. That Section 2 -547 of the
Alameda Municipal Code be, and the
same is hereby amended to read as
follows:
Sec. 2 -547 Illness in Immediate
Family. Whenever any officer or
employee is compelled to be ab-
sent from duty by reason of
death, or critical il]ness where
death appears to be imminent, of
either father, mother, brother, sis-
ter, husband, wife, or child, or of
the father or mother of the spouse
of such officer or employee, such
officer or employee shall receive
compensation during such absence
at the regular rate of pay for time
necessary to be absent from work,
not, however, to exceed three (3)
working days in all; provided, that
the compensation herein provided
to be paid shall be paid only when

the officer ar employee absent
shall furnish satisfactory evidence
of the facts justifying such ab-
sence.
Section 2. This ordinance shall be
in full force and effect from and after
the expiration of thirty (30) days from
the date of its final passage.
