AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLET V
IX, CHAPTER 1, ARTICLE 1, OF
THE ALAMEDA MUNICIPAL
CODE BY ADDING THERETO A
NEW SECTION 9-115 PROHIBIT-
ING THE SALE OF LIVE CHICKS,
RABBITS, DUCKLINGS OR OTHER
FOWL, AS PETS OR NOVELTIES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUN-
CIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA:
Section 1. That Title IX; Chapter
1, Article 1, of the Alameda Municipal
Code be, and is hereby, amended by
adding thereto a new section 9-115,
which shall read as follows:
Sec. 9-115. It shall not be lawful
for any person to display, sell, offer
for sale, barter or give away any
live chicks, rabbits, ducklings or
other fowl as pets or novelties,
whether or not dyed, colored, or
otherwise artificially treated; pro-
vided, however, this section shall
not prohibit the display or sale of
natural chicks, rabbits, ducklings
or other fowl in proper facilities by
dealers, hatcheries or stores en-

gaged in the business of selling the
same to be raised for food purposes.
Section 2. This ordinance sha , 11 be
in full force and effect from and
after the expiration of thirty (30)
days from the date of its final
