AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF
ALAMEDA DESIGNATING CER-
TAIN CITY-OWNED PROPERTY
AS (1) EXCLUSIVE PARKING
.
AREA FCR THE USE OF CITY
OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, DE-
PARTMENTS AND OTHER GOV-
ERNMENTAL OFFICIALS, AND
(2) A PARKING AREA FOR USE
BY THE GENERAL PUBLIC
WHILE CONDUCTING BUSINESS
AT GOVERNMENTAL OFFICES IN
THE IMMEDIATE VICINITY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUN-
CIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA:
Section 1. That the Alameda Mu-
nicipal Code be, and is hereby,
amended by adding to Title XVII,
Chapter 3, Article 3, a new section
17-335, which shall read as follows:
See. 17-335. City Hall Parking Lot.
Notwithstanding anything to the
contrary contained in this Chapter,
there is hereby established, as de-
lineated on that certain map re-
ferred to in subparagraph (3) of
this section, a City Hall Parking
Lot for the exclusive use of City
officers, employees, departments,
and other governmental officials
and for use by the general public
while conducting business at gov-
ernmental offices in the immediate
vicinity of said City Hall Parking
Lot.
(1) The City Manager shall desig-
nate the particular area of said
City Hall Parking Lot that shall be
u for parking purposes by City
officers, employees, departments
and other governmental officials,
and the particular area that shall
be used by the general public while
conducting business at govern-
mental offices; provided, however,
that not less than twenty (20) park-
ing spaces shall be allocated for
use by the general public; said
twenty (20) parking spaces shall
have a maximum time limit of two
(2) hours parking, from 9:00 a. in.
to 6:00 p. in,, Sundays and holidays
excluded.
(2 ) The City Manager shall
designate and allocate to specific
City officers, employees, depart-
ments and other governmental offi-
cials, specific parking spaces in said
City Hall Parking Lot, and cause to
be made appropriate identification
markings thereon, and shall make
appropriate rules and regulations
governin the use thereof.
(3) The area referred to herein
as the "City Hall Parking Lot" is
as shown and delineated on that
certain map entitled "Parking Sys-
tem, City Hall Parking Lot, raw-
ing 4476, Case 21," a copy of which
is on file in the office of the City
Clerk of the City of Alameda,
(4) It shall be unlawful for any
person to park or leave unattended
any vehicle on any part of said
City Hall Parking Lot unless said
vehicle be fully within the parking
space designated, for said vehicle.
(5) For any violation of any pro-
vision of this section, the Police
Department of the City of Alameda
is hereby empowered to issue no-
tices to appear, or citations, in the
usual form and manner as provided
in the Vehicle Code of the State of
California.
Section 2. This Ordinance shall be
in full force and effect from and
after the expiration of thirty (30)
days from the date of its final pas-
sage.
