AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING
THE CONVEYANCE BY r QUIT-
CLAIM DEED OF CERTAIN CITY-
OWNED EASEMENTS TO THE
ALASKA <PACKERS ASSOCIA-
TION, A CALIFORNIA CORPORA-
TION.
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda is
the owner of certain easements here -
inafter described; and
WHEREAS, , said easements have
been abandoned and have ceased to
be utilized by the City of Alameda;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT OR-
DAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ALAMEDA:
Section 1. That the City of Alameda
convey by quitclaim to the Alaska
Packers Association, - a corporation
duly organized - and doing business
under and by virtue of the laws of
the State of California, those certain
easements situated in the City of Ala-
meda, County of Alameda, State of
California, and more particularly de-
scribed as follows:
A'five -foot strip of land on each
side of the following described cen-
ter line:
BEGINNING at a point on the
Line Segregating High Dry Land
from Marsh Land, said point being
distant South 84 34' East 43.72 feet
troin:Station No. 19, as said Station
and Line are delineated' and so des -
ignated upon that certain map enti-
tled "Map of Alameda Marsh Land,
as 'Partitioned among the owners
thereof in the suit numbered 8923
and entitled, 'Pacific Improvement
Company, plaintiff, vs. James A.
Waymire, et al., defendants,' Supe-
rior Court of Alameda County,
State of California," filed July 30,
1900, in Liber 25 of Maps, at pages
74 to 78, in the office of the County;
Recorder of Alameda County, and
running thence North 72 25' West
to a, point on the Northerly , exten-
sion of the Easterly line; of Sherman'
Street,` as said street now exists;
thence along said Northerly exten-
sion of said Easterly line of Sher-
man Street North 3 °'08' East 5.14
feet to a point; thence South! 72'
25' East to a point on said Segrega-
tion Line, said point being ;distant
South 84 34' East 67.47 feet from
said Station No. 19; thence South

point, said point being the point of

said street now exists.

267.77 feet, more or less; to a point
on the - westerly, - line -of Grand
Street, as said street is shown on ;
said Map of Alameda Marsh Land:
An easement, ten (10) feet in width
lying five (5) feet on each side of the
following described center line:
BEGINNING at , the point of in-
tersection of the Northerly line of
Eagle Avenue (formerly Eagle
Street) and the center of Hibbard
Street (formerly Perch Street) ex-
tended as said streets are shown on
the map entitled "Map of Town of
Encinal and the Lands Adjacent,
Surveyed by Horace A. Higley and
filed August 7, 1854, in the office of
the Recorder of Alameda County,
State of California, in Map Book 6'
at Page 8, and running thence along;
the center line of Hibbard Street
extended ' Northerly - 31.00 ' feet
thence Westerly and parallel to the
Northerly line of Eagle Avenue
281.00 feet; thence at right angles
Northerly 10.00 feet to the end of
said easement center line.
Section 2. That the Mayor of the
City of Alameda be, and he is hereby,
authorized and directed to execute,
on behalf of the City of Alameda, a
quitclaim deed 'transferring to the
United States of America the 'inter-
ests of the City of Alameda in the
above set out easements, and the City
Clerk is hereby; directed to attest to
same.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be
in full' force and effect from and
after the = expiration of thirty (30)
days from the date of its final pas-
sage.
