WHEREAS, public interest and
necessity require that the real prop-
erty hereinafter described be ac-
quired by the City of Alameda for
street, highway and general munici-
pal purposes; and
WHEREAS, Fauna B. Rommell, a
single woman, is the owner of the
real property hereinafter described
and is willing to sell the same to
the City of Alameda for the sum of
NINE HUNDRED ($900.00) DOLLARS,
in addition to other consideration;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT OR-
DAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ALAMEDA:
Section 1. That the City of Ala-
meda purchase from Fauna B. Rom-
mell, a single woman, for the sum
of $900.00, in addition to other con-
sideration, as described in Section 2
below, that certain real property
situated in the City of Alameda, r
County of Alameda, State of Cali-
fornia, and more particularly des-
cribed as follows:
BEGINNING at a point on the
center line of Willow Street
distant thereon South 29 47'
23" West 75.02 feet from the
southwestern line of Clinton
Avenue, the bearing of said
center line being taken as South
29 47 23" West for the purpose
of making this description; run-
ning thence along said center
line South 29' 47' 23" West 123.44
feet; thence South 60 12' 37"
East 20.00 feet to the northwest-
ern terminus of the line des-
cribed in the agreement between
Fauna B, Rommell and Utah
Construction Company, dated
February 10, 1956, recorded
February 27, 1956 in Book 7945
of official Records of Alameda
County at page 471; thence along

(a) That good and merchant-
able title in fee simple in said
real property be conveyed to the
City of Alameda, free and clear
of all objections, liens, and en-
cumbrances; City and County
taxes to be prorated as of the
date of closing of this sale.
(b) That the title of said real
property be evidenced by a
policy of title insurance issued
by California Pacific Title In-
surance Company, insuring title
in the City, as provided in the
preceding subdivision.
(c) That upon deposit with said
title company for delivery to the
City of a good and sufficient
deed of grant convey' said

ditioned upon the issuance of a
title insurance policy, as afore-
said, to be approved by the City
Attorney, a warrant of the City
be drawn for $1,000.00, payable
to the order of and delivered
to California Pacific Title In-
surance Company, as escrow
holder, for the purpose of effect-
ing the consummation of said
purchase and payment of title
insurance,
Section 2. That the additional con-
sideration referred to in Section I
to perform the following work and
above is as follows: City agrees
make the following installations on
the remaining property of Fauna B.
Rommell, a single woman, at its own
cost and expense, as set out below:
(a) Work to be done on south-
erly half of garage.
1. Remove existing Portland
cement concrete floor and con-
struct new floor at lower
elevation, including any neces-
sary reconstruction of founda-
tion walls.
2. Alter doorway to fit new
door elevation, including stucco
patch work.
3. Paint all stucco and wood
at west face of garage.
4. Reconstruct driveway
wide enough for three cars at
lower elevation.
(b) Reconstruct portion of
existing sidewalk leading from
