AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING
THE ACQUISITION OF CERTAIN
REAL PROPERTY FOR STREET,
HIGHWAY AND GENERAL MU-
NICIPAL PURPOSES (WIDENING
OF WILLOW STREET— ALAMEDA
HOSPITAL).
WHEREAS, public interest and
necessity require that the real prop-
erty hereinafter described be ac-
rauired by the City of Alameda for
street, highway and general munici-
pal purposes; and
WHEREAS, Alameda Hospital, a
California corporation, is the owner
of the real property hereinafter de-
scribed and is willing " to sell , the
same to the City of Alameda for the
sum of TWO THOUSAND, FOUR
HUNDRED ($2,400.00) DOLLARS, in
addition to other consideration;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT OR-
DAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ALAMEDA:
Section 1. That the City of Ala-
meda purchase from Alameda Hos-
pital, a California corporation, for
the sum of $2,400.00, in addition to
other consideration, as described in
Section 2 below, that - certain real
property situated in the City of
Alameda, County of Alameda, State
of California, and more particularly
described as follows:
A portion of the parcel of
land 'described in the deed from
the American Trust Company to
the Alameda Hospital, recorded
November 15, 1939 .under Re-
corder's Serial No. KK -55073
in Book 3848 of Official Records
of Alameda County at page 123,
and also in the deed from the
Alameda South Shore Land Com-
pany to Alameda Hospital dated
April 2, 1952, recorded April 4.
1952 in Book 6699 of Official
"Records of Alameda - County at
page 223, more particularly de-
scribed as follows:
BEGINNING at the intersec-
tion of the southwestern line of
Clinton Avenue and the center
line of Willow - Street and run -
ning thence along said center
dine South 29' 47' 23 West
198.47 feet; thence North 60' 12'
37" West 30.00 feet to a line -
drawn parallel to the said center
dine of Willow Street and distant
30.00 feet therefrom measured at
right angles thereto; thence
along said parallel line North
29' 47' 23" East 50.00 feet; thence
South 60' 12' 37" East 2.00 feet;
thence North 29* 47' ` 23 -East
148.47 feet to the said southwest -
ern line of Clinton Avenue;
thence along last mentioned line
South 60' 12' 07" East 28.00 feet
to the point of beginning. a
EXCEPTING therefrom that
portion thereof lying within the
lines of Willow 'Street as the
same now _exists 40 feet wide.
on - the - following; 'terms ; and is
conditions:
(a) That good and merchantable
title in fee simple in said real
property be conveyed to the City
of Alameda, free and clear of all
objections, liens, and encum-
brances; City and County taxes
to be prorated as of the date of
closing of this sale.
(b) That the title of said real
property be evidenced by a'poli-
cy of title insurance - issued by
California Pacific Title Insur-
ance Company, insuring title in
the City, as provided in the pre-
ceding subdivision.
(c) That upon deposit with
said title company for delivery ;
to the City of a good and suffi-
cient deed of grant - conveying
said property to said City and
conditioned upon- the l issuance
of a title insurance ; policy, as
aforesaid, to be approved by the
City Attorney, a warrant of the
City be drawn for $2,500.00, pay- '
able to the order of and r de-
livered to California Pacific Title '
Insurance Company, as escrow '
holder, for the purpose of effect-
ing the , consummation of said
purchase and payment of = title
insurance.
Section 2. That the additional con-
sideration referred to in Section >I
above is as follows: City agrees to
perform the following work and
make the following cinstallations: on
the remaining property of Alameda
Hospital, _ a California corporation,
at its own cost and expense, as set
out below:
1. Construct Portland cement
concrete wall and handrail north' '
of driveway; along property line
on both sides of ramp.
2. Construct asphaltic concrete
ramp north of hospital building
and slope to existing pavement

3. Construct standard six -inch
curb on south side of ramp west >%
of wall
4. Construct special catch basin
west of ramp.
5. Construct Portland cement
concrete sidewalk _between 'hos-
pital building and ,property line. '
6. Remove existing chain link
fence between hospital building
and property line at 'southern
limit of work.
