AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING
SALE OF CERTAIN CITY -OWNED
REAL PROPERTY TO THE ALA-
MEDA UNIFIED SCHOOL DIS-
TRICT (PORTION OF 8.54 ACRES,
MOST WESTERLY S.W. CORNER
OTIS DRIVE AND ROSEWOOD
WAY)
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda
is the owner of certain real prop-
erty situate in the City of Alameda,
County of Alameda, State of Cali-
fornia, as hereinafter described;
and
WHEREAS, the aforesaid prop-
erty is no longer required by the
City of Alameda for municipal pur-
poses, and public convenience and
necessity require the disposal of
said real property; and
WHEREAS, the Alameda Unified
School District has offered to pur-
chase said real property for the
sum of FIFTEEN THOUSAND
($15,000.00) DOLLARS;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT OR-
DAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ALAMEDA:
Section 1. That the City of Ala-
meda transfer unto the Alameda.
Unified School District all that cer-
tain real property situate in the
City of Alameda, County of Ala -
meda, State of California, more
particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point on the
southwesterly line of Otis Drive,
distant thereon south 63° 48' 58"
east 294.67 feet from the most
northerly corner of Lot 3, Block
11, Tract 1898, as said Drive and
Lot are shown on the map en-
titled "Tract 1898, South Shore
Unit No. 2, Alameda, California"
and recorded August 22, 1958 in
Book 38 of Maps, pages 89 to 92
inclusive, in the office of the
County Recorder of Alameda
County, said point having the
coordinates of Y= 465;633.87 feet
and X= 1,488,942:42 feet based on
the California Coordinate System,
Zone III, as are all bearings and
distances in this description;
thence along said southwesterly
line of Otis Drive, south 63 48'
58" east 556.28 feet; thence along
the are of a tangent curve to the
right having a radius of 20 feet,
through an angle of 90 an are
distance of 31.42 feet to the north -
westerly line of Rosewood Way;
thence along said northwesterly
line and the northwesterly line of
along a line of said Lot 3, along
the are of a non- tangent curve,
concave to the south; having a
radius of 40 -feet (the radius: of
said curve at last said point bears
south 26° 11' 02 " west to the
center) through an angle of 90',
an : are distance of 62.83 feet;
thence south 26 11' -'02" west ; 2
feet to the southwesterly line of
said Lot 3;) thence along said
southwesterly line of Lot 3, north
63 48' 58" west 536.28 feet; thence
north 26 11:' 02" east 456 feet to
the point of beginning,
for and in consideration of the
sum of $15,400:00, to be paid in
cash to the City of Alameda by the
Alameda Unified School District
coincident with the tender of -a
grant deed conveying ; said weal
property. All escrow charges and
title insurance' costs are to be 'paid
by the grantee.
Section 2. That the Mayor of
the City of Alameda is hereby' an-
thorized and directed, to execute,
for and on behalf of the City of
Alameda, a grant deed transferring
the aforesaid real property to the
Alameda Unified School District of
Alameda •County, State of Califor-
ma, a public corporation, and the
City Clerk is directed to attest to
the same. ,
Section 3. This ordinance shall be
in full force and effect from and
after the expiration of thirty (30)
days from the date of its final
passage.
