AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE
PLUMBING CODE AND HEATING
AND VENTILATING CODE OF
THE CITY OF ALAMEDA BY
AMENDING SECTIONS 8-3.05 AND
8-16.D5 THEREOF, RELATING TO
COST OF PERMITS
BE IT ORDAINED 13Y THE
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA:
SECTION 1. That Sections 8-3.05
and 8-16.05 of the Plumbing Code
and Heating and Ventilating Code
of the City of Alameda are hereby
amended to read as follows:
See. 8-3.05. Cost of Permit.
Every applicant for a Permit to
install, add to, alter, relocate, or
replace a Plumbing or Drainage
System, or part thereof, shall
state in writing on the applica-
tion form provided for that PUT-
pose, the character of work pro-
posed to be done and the amount
and kind in Connection therewith,
together with such information
pertinent thereto as the Plumbing
Inspector may require.
Such applicant shall pay to the
Plumbing Inspector for each Per-
mit issued and at the time of
issuance, a fee in accordance with
the following schedule, and at
the rate provided for each classi-
fication shown therein.
Any person who shall com-
mence any plumbing work for
which a permit is required by
this Article without first having
obtained a permit therefor shall,
if subsequently permitted to ob-
tain a permit, pay Ten ($10) Dol-
lars plus treble the permit fee
fixed by this Article for such
work: provided, however, that
this provision shall not apply to
emergency work when it is
proven to the satisfaction of the
Plumbing Inspector that such
work was urgently necessary and
that it was not practical to obtain
a Permit therefor before the
commencement of the work. In
all such cases a Permit must be
obtained as soon as it is prac-
ticable to do so, and if there is
an unreasonable delay in obtain-
ing such Permit, Ten ($10) Dol-
lars plus a treble fee as herein
provided shall be charged.

install gas or oil appliances, add
to, alter, relocate, or replace a
Heating or Ventilating System, or
part thereof, shall state in writing
on the application form provided
for that purpose, the character of
work proposed to be done and
the amount and kind in connec-
tion therewith, together with such
information pertinent thereto •as
the Plumbing Inspector may re-
quire.
Such applicant shall pay to the
"Plumbing Inspector for each per-
;hit issued and at the time of
issuance, a fee in accordance with
the following schedule, and at the
rate provided for each classifica-
tion shown therein.
Any person who shall com-
mence any work for which a per-
mit is required by this Article
without first having obtained a
permit therefor, shall if subse-
quently permitted to obtain a
Permit, pay Ten ($10) Dollars plus
treble the permit fee fixed by
this Article for such work; pro-
vided, however, that this pro-
vision shall not apply to emer-
gency work when it shall be
Proved to the satisfaction of the
Plumbing Inspector that such
work was urgently necessary and
that it was not practical to ob-
tain a permit there-for before
commencing the work. In all such
cases a permit must be obtained
as soon as it is practical to do
so and if there is an unreason-
able delay in •obtaining such per-
mit, Ten ($10) Dollars plus treble
the permit fee shall be charged.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall
be in full force and effect from
and after the expiration of thirty
(30) days from the date of its final
passage,
