AMENDING THE ALAMEDA MUNI-
CIPAL CODE BY ADDING SECTION
7 -359 THERETO, AUTHORIZING SALE
OF CERTAIN ABANDONED BICYCLES
TO ALAMEDA JUNIOR CHAMBER OF
COMMERCE FOR RESALE AT AUC-
TION RESTRICTED TO MINORS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ALA VI EDA:
Section .1. The Alameda Mu-
nicipal Code is hereby amend-
ed by adding Section 7 -359
thereto, to read:
7 -359. Not withstand-
ing the preceding section or
any other provision of this
Code, the City Manager may
sell not more than fifty per-
cent (50 %) of all such aband-
oned and unclaimed bicycles
to the Alameda Junior
Chamber of Commerce for
the sum of One .Dollar
( $ 1 . 0 0) , providing said
organization agrees (a) to
resell said bicycles at auc-
tions in which the bidding
and sale is limited and re-
stricted to persons between
the ages of nine (9) and
seventeen (17) years, and (b)
to remit to the City one -half
(/) tale total proceeds real-
ized from each such auction
without. at,.411intion for any
costs or expense.
The City Manager may
adopt such rules and regula-
tions as he may deem a.p ro-
priate to carry out the fore -
g�oing provisions.
Section 2. This ordinance
shall be in full force and effect
from and after the expiration
of thirty (30) days from the
date of its final - passaggee
