MUNICIPAL CODE ADDING A
NEW ARTICLE 3 TO CHAPTER 6,
TITLE XVII THEREOF, CONSIST-
ING OF SECTIONS 17 -631
THROUGH 17- 633, RELATING TO
THE USE AND OCCUPANCY ON
STREETS AND OTHER PUBLIC
PLACES OF CAMPERS,. TRAIL-
ERS AND SIMILAR VEHICLES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE
COUNCIL OF : THE CITY OF
ALAMEDA that:
Section 1. The Alameda
Municipal Code is hereby
amended by adding Article 3
to Chapter 6 of Title XVII, con-
sisting. of Sections 17-631
through 17 -633; to read:

See. 17-631. Definitions.
(a) "House Car" shall mean. a
motor vehicle originally
designed or permanently
or. temporarily altered an
equipped for human habi-
tation, or to which a camp-
er has been permanently
or temporarily attached.
(b) "Camper" shall mean a
structure designed to be
mounted upon a motor ve-
hicle ' and to provide faelli-
ties for human human habitation
or camping purposes.
(c), "Trailer Coach" shall
mean a structure designed
to. be drawn by a 'motor
vehicle and to provide
facilities for human occu-
pancy or carrying - persons
or property on its own.
(d) "Camp Car" Is a vehicle
with or without motive
power, which is designed
or used , for human hablta-
tion,
(e) "Mobilehorne "' " whether de-
pendent, Independent or
self-contained,. is a vehicle
designed and equipped for
human ha,kiitation and for
being drawn oy a motor
vehicle.
(f) "Person" shall mean an
Individual, firm, partner -
ship, joint adventure, asso-
c i a t o n, social club,
fraternal organization,
j o I n t stock; company,
corpporation,. estate, trust,
business trust, receiver,
trustee, syndicate, or any
other group or combination
actin as a unit excepting
the U g nited States of Ameri-
ca, the - State. of California
and any political subdivi-
sion of either thereof.

persons to . use or occupy, or
to permit the use or occupancy
of, any house car, camper,
trailer coach, camp car or
mobilehome for human habita-
tion or as a dwelling: place,

as occupancies, singly or in a
roup, on any street, park,
each parking lot, square,
alley, public way Or -other pub -
lic place within the . City be.

p.m. and 6 o'clock a.m.
Provided, however:
(a) This article shall not apply
to any such vehicle parked
for the purpose of making
eamergeney repairs If the
operator. of such vehicle
shall have first. given no-
tice of such condition to the
Police Department.
(b) This article . shall not be
enforced against a person
whose vehicle is equipped
with sanitary facilities
which comply with the
regulations of the state De-
ggartment. of Housing: and
C ommunity Development
(as evidenced by the De-
partmental Insignia) or of
the state.wherein such ve-
hicle may be licensed, . but
this subsection shall not
apply to any specific such
vehicle after ten (10) days
continuous use of any such
vehicle in the City in any
one calendar year.
(c) Where a complaint of an
alleged violation of this
article ' is received. by the
Police Department' - from
one not a peace officer, it
shall. not be enforced un-
less and until one notice of
violation shall be given to
the 'operator of such vehi-
cle by the Police Depart -
merit.

Sec. 17.633. Penalty for Vio-
lation. A violation of any of
the provisions of this article
shalt constitute a misde-
meanor, punishable in the
manner set forth in Section 1-
411 of this Code.
Section. 2. This ordinance
shall be in frill force and effect
from and after the expiration
of thirty 3€3) days from the
date of its final passage.
