Ordinance 17770rdinance No. 1777 New Series AMENDING CERTAIN PORTIONS OF THE ALAMEDA MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO TRAFFIC REGULATIONS BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUN- CIL OFTHE CITY OF ALAMEDA that: Section I. Section 17-232 (U-Turns Prohibited) of the Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amended by adding subsection (35) thereto, to read as follows: (35) Clubhouse Memorial Road and the entrance to the Fire Drill Tower. Section 2. Section 17,342 (Two-Hour Parking Limit) of the Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amended by amending subsection (18) thereof to read as follows: (18) Park Street, on the westerly side thereof, between the southerly line of San Jose Avenue and a point 112 feet southerly therefrom; and on the easterly side thereof, between the southerly line of San Jose Avenue and a point 146 feet southerly therefrom. Section 3. Section 17-432 (Stop Inter- sections) of the Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amended by adding subsection (211) thereto, to read as follows: (211) Haight Avenue and Sixth Street, signs shall be erected on Haight Avenue at or near the northeasterly and southwesterly corners of its intersection with Sixth Street, Section 4. Section 17-461 (Yield Right-of-Way Intersections) of the Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amended by repealing subsection (1) thereof. Section 5. This ordinance is one of great necessity and urgency within the meaning of Section -3 -12 of the City Charter, is introduced and passed atthe same Council meeting and shall become effective on November 19, 1975. Section 6. The facts constituting the necessity and urgency hereof are: 1. That traffic regulations are es- sential for the orderly flow and con- trol of traffic within the City. 2. That such regulations should necessarily be immediately effec- tive on passage to insure that maximum Preservation of Public welfare is obtained, 3. That a potential health and safety problem will exist if such amendments are not immediately effective. 4. That, in light of such potential health and safety problems in- volved, the normal delay; V between enactment of this ordinance and its effective date would be iniurious. 5, This Council hereby finds, de- termines and declares that it is in the best interest and necessity that this ordinance be introduced end passed at the regular meeting of the City Council held November 18, 1975, and thatthis ordinance become and be in full force and effect November 19, 1975.
