AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF
CERTAIN CITY -OWNED REAL
PROPERTY TO THE ALAMEDA
UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda and
the Alameda Unified School District of
Alameda County, State of California,
have reached an agreement to clear
titles on certain school sites described
herein and all as more particularly set
out in the Compromise Contract
authorized by Resolution No. 8505,
adopted April 6, 1976;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT OR-
DAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ALAMEDA:
Section 1. That the City of Alameda
transfer unto the Board of Education,
Alameda Unified School District, all
that certain real property situate in the
City of Alameda, County of Alameda,
State of California, and more par-
ticularly described as follows:
PARCEL 1. Alameda High School
A portion of Lot 6, western 1%2 of
Block C, Map of the Lands Adjacent
to the Town of Encinal, filed May 28,
1867, Map Book 19, page 53, Alameda
County Records, described as
follows:
BEGINNING on the northern
line of Alameda Avenue at an
Eastern line of the parcel of land
conveyed to Alameda High
School District of Alameda
County, recorded June 20, 1923,
Book 441, Page 348, Official
Records; THENCE from said
point of beginning easterly along
the said northern line of Alameda
Avenue, 4 inches to the eastern
line of the parcel of land con-
veyed to the City of Alameda,
dated October 19, 1916, and
recorded in Book 2508, Deeds,
page 188; THENCE northerly
along said eastern line, 150 feet;
THENCE westerly 4 inches to the
first mentioned eastern line of
Alameda High School Deed (441,
Official Records, 348); THENCE
southerly along said easterly line,
150 feet to the point of BEGIN-
NING.
PARCEL 2. Edison School
All Block 7, Map of Part of the
Hays and Caperton Property in the
Town of Alameda, filed April 9, 1873,
Map Book 5, page 6, Alameda
County Records.
PARCEL 3. Franklin School
BEGI N N I NG at the intersection of
the southwestern line of Encinal
Avenue, eighty (80) feel wide, as
said avenue now exists, with the
northwestern line of Paru Street, as
shown on the "Mar) of Oak Park,
Encinal of Alameda,, Alameda Co.,
Col., 1876 ", filed October 28, 1876, in
Book 1 of Maps, page 103, in the Of-
fice of the Alameda County
Recorder; THENCE southwesterly
along said line of Paru Street 290feet
to the northern line of San Antonio
Avenue, as shown on said map;
THENCE northwesterly along said
line of San Antonio Avenue 165 feet;
THENCE at right angles northeas-
terlyalong aline parallel with and 10
feet southeasterly of the common
boundary line between Lots 15 and l6
of Block "I ", as shown on the
aforesaid map, a distance of 145
feet; THENCE at right angles
southeasterly 15 feet: THENCE
northeasterly along a line parallel
with and 25 feet southeasterly of the
common boundary line between
Lots 7 and 8 of Block "I ", as shown
on the aforesaid map, a distance of
145 feet to the aforesaid southwes-
tern line of Encinal Avenue;
THENCE southeasterly along last
said line, 150 feet to the BEGIN-
NING.
PARCEL 4. Haight School
Portions of Block 6, Map of Lands
Adjacent to the Town of Encinal,
filed May 28, 1867, Map Book 19,
Page 53, Alameda County Records,
described as follows:
A) All of Lots 4 through 8
inclusive, and all of Lots 11
through 15 inclusive, as shown on
the above - mentioned map;
B) The nothern 50 feet of Lots
16, 17, and 18 as shown on said
map.
EXCEPTING FROM PARCEL
4:
A) That portion thereof taken
from the widening of Lincoln
Avenue to 80 feet;
B) That portion thereof taken
for the widening of Santa Clara
Avenue to 80 feet.
PARCEL 5. Lincoln School
All of Block 101, as shown on the
"Map of Town of Alameda and Ad-
jacent Lands ', filed September 12,
1867, in Book 5 of Maps, page 16, in
the office of the Alameda County
Recorder; also,
All of Lot 1, and the western half of
Lot 2, in Block 92, as shown on the
aforementioned map; also,
All of the 10.62 foot wide strip of
land lying between Lots 2 and 3,
Block 92, as shown on the aforemen-
tioned map; also,
All that portion of Van Buren
Street (abandoned) lying between
the southeastern line of Mound
Street and the northwestern line of
Court Street as described in Resolu-
tion No. 4962 of the Council of the
City of Alameda, recorded July 26,
1954, in Book 7379, page 487, Official
Records of Alameda County.
Excepting therefrom: That por-
tion thereof taken for the widening
of Central Avenue to 80 feet.
PARCEL 6. Porter School
Portions of the eastern and wes-
tern halves of Block D, as shown on
the Map of Lands Adjacent to the
Town of Encinal, filed May 28, 1967,
Map Book 19, Page 53, Alameda
County Records, described as
to' lows:
A) All of Lots, 1, 2, 3, 15, 16, 17,
and 18, and the western 36 feet of
Lot 4, in the eastern half of Block
D, as shown on said map;
AND
B) All of Lots 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and
12 in the western half of Block D,
as shown on said map;
Excepting from Parcel 6: That
portion thereof taken for the
widening of Encinal Avenue to 80
feet.

Section 2. That the Mayor of the City
of Alameda is hereby authorized and
directed to exerute,,for and on behalf of
the City of Alameda, a quiTclafm deed,
or deeds, conveying said real property
to the Board of Education, Alameda
Unified School District, and the City
Clerk is directed to attest to the same.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be ef-
fective thirty (30) days from and after
the date of its final passage.
