AMENDING THE ALAMEDA MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADDING CHAPTER 7
TO TITLE II THEREOF, ESTABLISHING A FEE FOR FILING OF
NOMINATION PAPERS FOR ANY CANDIDATE FOR CITY ELECTION
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that:
Section 1 . The City Council of the City of Alameda finds
and determines that the cost of processing election nomination
papers is at least twenty -five dollars ($25.00).
Section 2 . The Alameda Municipal. Code is hereby amended by
adding Chapter 7 to Title II thereof, consisting of Section 2 -711,
which shall read as follows:
CHAPTER 7. ELECTIONS
Article 1. Filing Fees, 2 -711
Article 1. Filing`Fees
Sec. 2 -711 Nomination Papers A filing fee of
twenty -five dollars ($25.00)`shall be paid upon the
filing of nomination papers for any candidate.
Section 3 . Said filing fee is imposed pursuant to Section
22843 of the California Elections Code.

Section 4 . Pursuant to Section 3--12 of the Alameda City
Charter this ordinance is introduced and passed at the same Council
s meeting and shall become effective on December 1, 1976.
