COMBINING THE COMMUNITY RELATIONS COMMISSION
AND THE SOCIAL SERVICE BOARD
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that:
Section 1 . The Social Service Board, established by
Article X of the Charter of the City of Alameda,and the Community
Relations Commission, established by Ordinance No. 1733, N.S. of
the City of Alameda, are combined into one Board which shall be
known as the Social Service Human Relations Board.
Section 2 . All members of the Social Service Board and
Community Relations Commission shall become members of the Social
Service Human Relations Board. Any person appointed to the Social
Service Board or Community Relations Commission after the enact-
ment of this ordinance shall also be a member of the Social Service
Human Relations Board.
Section 3 . The Social Service Human Relations Board shall
perform the duties and exercise the powers of both the Social
Service Board and the Community Relations Commission.
P Section 4 . This ordinance is one of great necessity and
urgency within the meaning of Section 3 -12 of the City Charter,
2 7 is introduced and passed at the same Council meeting and shall

become effective on December 21, 1976.
> Section 5 . This ordinance shall terminate and be of no

cx force and effect if City Measure C on the March, 1977, ballot fails.
