Ordinance 1843CITY OF ALAMEDA ORDINANCE NO. 1843 New Series AMENDING THE ALAIMEDA MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADDING SECTION 17 -339 TO ARTICLE 3, CHAPTER 3, OF TITLE XVII THEREOF, ESTABLISHING DESIGNATED PARKING AREAS FOR OFFICIAL VEHICLES ONLY BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that: Section 1 . The Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amended by adding Section 17 -339 to Article 3, Chapter 3, of Title XVII thereof to read as follows: Sec. 17 -339. official Vehicles Desi nated Areas. It shall be unlawful for any person to stop, park, or leave standing any vehicle except official City of Alameda vehicles on the following streets: (1) Oak Street on the westerly side thereof between a point 16' north of the northern property line of Santa Clara Avenue, and to a point 106` northerly therefrom. (2) Santa Clara Avenue on the northerly side thereof between a point 83' west of the westerly line of Oak Street and to a point 107` westerly therefrom. Section 2 . This ordinance is one of great necessity and urgency within the meaning of Section 3 -12 of the City Charter, is introduced and passed at the same Council meeting and shall become effective on January 5, 1977. -1- Section 3 . The facts constituting the necessity and urgency hereof are. 1. That traffic regulations are essential for the orderly flow and control of traffic within the City. 2. That such regulations should necessarily be immediately effective on passage to insure that maximum preservation of public welfare is obtained. 3. That a potential health and safety problem will exist if such amendments are not immediately effective. 4. That, in light of such potential health and safety problems involved, the normal delay between enactment of this ordinance and its effective date would be injurious. 5. This Council hereby finds, determines and declares that it is in the best interest and necessity that this ordinance be introduced and passed at the regular meeting of the City Council held January 4, 1977, and that this ordinance become and be in full force and effect January 5, 1977. rr cn 0 cu — Pre Wing officer of the Council Attest: City Clerk -2- I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 4th day of January, 1977, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: Councilmen Beckam, Diament, Hurwitz, Sherratt and President Corica, (5), NOES: None, ABSENT: None.
