AUTHORIZING GRANT OF EASEMENT FOR PUBLIC UTILITY
PURPOSES TO PACIFIC GAS AND ELECTRIC COMPANY
(STRIP OF LAND IN GODFREY PARK)
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA:
Section 1 . That the City of Alameda grant to Pacific Gas
and Electric Company, a California corporation, a public utility
easement in, over, under and across a strip of land in the City
of Alameda for the purpose of installing underground cables,
devices, materials and equipment, with all necessary and proper
appliances and fixtures necessary for eliminating electrolytic
action from Pacific Gas and Electric Company gas line facilities
located outside said strip of land, said strip being a parcel of
real property in the City of Alameda, County of Alameda, state
of California, described as follows:
The strip of land of the uniform width of 5.0 feet
lying contiguous to and southeasterly of the north-
easterly prolongation of the southeasterly boundary
line of Seminary Avenue and extending northeasterly
45.0 feet from the northeasterly boundary line of
the parcel of land described in that certain Approval
of First and Final Report, No. 193982 dated April 9,
1973 and recorded on Reel 3385 of Official Records
as Image 32, Alameda County Records; said strip of
land being a portion of the parcel of land described
and designated PARCEL 1 in the deed from Harold C.
Ward and wife to the City of Alameda dated August 12,
1947 and recorded in Book 5187 of Official Records
at page 317, Alameda County Records.
Section 2 . That the Mayor and City Clerk be, and each
hereby is, authorized and directed to execute and to attest to,
respectively, on behalf of the City of Alameda, a grant of said

easement to the Pacific Gas and Electric Company. Provided,
however, that City shall not erect or construct any building
or other structure or drill or operate any well within said
strip of land and said grant shall reserve to the City the right
to construct, install, maintain, replace, or remove the existing
storm drainage system within said strip of land.
Section 3 . This ordinance shall be in full force and

effect from and after the expiration of thirty (30) days from
the date of its final passage.

I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance was
duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of
Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 19th day of July, 1977, by
the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen piament, Sherratt and President Corica, (3).
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Councilmen Beckam and Tillman, (2).
