Ordinance 1884CITY OF ALAMEDA ORDINANCE NO. 1884 New Series AMENDING SECTION 17 -344.1 OF THE ALAMEDA MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO 24- MINUTE PARKING LIMITS BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that: Section 1 . Section 17 -344.1 (24- Minute Parking Limit) of the Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amended by adding subsection (21) thereto to read: (21) Encinal Avenue (Walnut Street to Willow Street), commencing at a point in the (a) South curb line of Encinal Avenue, 17 feet westerly from the west line of Walnut Street and running thence westerly 21.5 feet. Section 2 . This ordinance is one of great necessity and urgency within the meaning of Section 3 -12 of the City Charter, is introduced and passed at the same Council meeting and shall become effective on September 7, 1977. Section 3 . The facts constituting the necessity and urgency hereof are: 1. That traffic regulations are essential for the orderly flow and control of traffic within the City. 2. That such regulations should necessarily be immediately effective on passage to insure that maximum preservation of public welfare is obtained. 3. That a potential health and safety problem will exist if such amendment is not immediately effective. -1- 4. That, in light of such potential health and safety problems involved, the normal delay between enactment of this ordinance and its effective date would be injurious. 5. This Council hereby finds, determines and declares that it is in the best interest and necessity that this ordinance be introduced and passed at the regular meeting of the City Council held September 6, 1977, and that this ordinance become and be in full force and effect September 7, 1977. -2- .- Presidirj fficer of the Council Attest: f p City Clerk 7 -2- I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance was duly and regularly introduced and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 6th day of September. 1977, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: Councilmen Diament, Sherratt, Tillman and President Corica, (4).
