Ordinance 1898CITY OF ALAMEDA ORDINANCE NO. 1898 AMENDING CERTAIN PORTIONS OF THE ALAMEDA MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO TRAFFIC REGULATIONS BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that: Section 1 . Section 17 -344.1 (24- Minute Parking Limit) of the Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amended by adding subsection (22)(a) thereto, to read: (22) Encinal Avenue (Walnut Street to Oak Street), commencing at a point in the (a) North curb line of Encinal Avenue, 180 feet easterly from the east line of Walnut Street and running thence easterly 66 feet. Section 2 . Section 17 -344.1 (24- Minute Parking Limit) of the Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amended by repealing sub- section (4)(a) thereof. Section 3 . Section 17 -333 (All Time and Limited No Parking) of the Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amended by amending subsections (40), (41), and (42) thereof, to read: (40) Otis Drive, on the northerly side thereof, between a point 49 feet easterly of the easterly line of Broadway and a point 55 feet easterly therefrom, between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. and between the hours of 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. (41) Otis Drive, on the southerly side thereof, between the westerly line of Broadway and a point 75 feet westerly therefrom. -1- (42) Otis Drive, on the southerly side thereof, between a point 53 feet easterly of the easterly line of Broadway and a point 60 feet easterly therefrom, between the hours of 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Section 4 . Section 17 -333 (All Time and Limited No Parking) of the Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amended by adding subsection (80) thereto, to read: (80) Broadway, on the westerly side thereof, between a point 12 feet northerly of the northerly line of Otis Drive and a point 70 feet northerly therefrom. Section 5 . This ordinance is one of great necessity and urgency within the meaning of Section 3 -12 of the City Charter, is introduced and passed at the same Council meeting and shall become effective on January 4, 1978. Section 6 . The facts constituting the necessity and urgency hereof are: 1. That traffic regulations are essential for the orderly flow and control of traffic within the City. 2. That such regulations should necessarily be immediately effective on passage to insure that maximum preservation of public welfare is obtained. 3. That a potential health and safety problem will exist if such amendments are not immediately effective. 4. That, in light of such potential health and safety problems involved, the normal delay between enactment of this ordinance and its effective date would be injurious. 5. This Council hereby finds, determines and declares that it is in the best interest and necessity that this ordinance be introduced and passed at the regular meeting of the City Council held January 3, 1978, and that this ordinance become and be in full force and effect January 4, 1978.
