Ordinance 1904CITY OF ALAMEDA ORDINANCE NO. 1904 New Series AMENDING CERTAIN PORTIONS OF TIM ALAMEDA MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO TRAFFIC REGULATIONS BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that: Section 1 Section 17 -333 (All Time and Limited No Parking) of the Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amended by adding sub- section (81) thereto, to read: (81) Clement Avenue, on the northerly side thereof between a point 343.5 feet easterly of the easterly line of willow Street extended and a point 81 feet easterly therefrom, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Section 2 Section 17 -344.1 (24- Minute Parking Limit) of the Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amended by adding subsection (23) thereto, to read: (23) High Street (Encinal Avenue to Madison Street), commencing at a point in the (a) East curb line of High Street, 27 feet southerly from the south line of Encinal Avenue and running thence southerly 20 feet. Section 3 Section 17 -432 (Stop Intersections) of the Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amended by adding subsection (216) thereto, to read: (216) Taylor Avenue and Fourth Street, signs shall be erected on Taylor Avenue at or near the northeasterly -1- and southwesterly corners of its intersection with Fourth Street. Section 4 Section 17 -344.3 is hereby added to Article 4 of Chapter 3, Title XVII of the Alameda Municipal Code, to read: Sec. 17- 344.3 Twenty -four Minute Parking Limit It shall be unlawful for any person between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. to park any vehicle or allow the same to remain standing continuously for more than twenty -four (24) minutes at any time, Sundays and holidays excepted, at the place hereinafter mentioned in the sub- divisions of this section. (l.) Encinal Avenue (Walnut Street to Willow Street), commencing at a point in the (a) South curb Sine of Encinal Avenue, 17 feet wesic,riy from the west line of Walnut Street and running thence westerly 21.5 feet. Section 5 Subsection 21 (a) of Section 17 -344.1 (24 -Min- ate Parking Limit) of the Alameda Municipal Code is hereby repealed. Section 6 This ordinance is one of great necessity and urgency within the meaning of Section 3 -12 of the City Charter, is introduced and passed at the same Council meeting and shall become effective on February 8, 1978. Section 7 The facts constituting the necessity and urgency hereof are: -2- 1. That traffic regulations are essential for the orderly flow and control of traffic within the City. 2. That such regulations should necessarily be immedi- ately effective on passage to insure that maximum preservation of public welfare is obtained. 3. That a potential health and safety problem will exist if such amendments are not immediately effective. 4. That, in light of such potential health and safety problems involved, the normal delay between enactment of this ordinance and its effective date would be injurious. 5.
