Ordinance 1927CITY OF ALAMEDA ORDINANCE NO. 1927 New Series AMENDING THE ALAMEDA MUNICIPAL CODE BY AMENDING SECTION 17 -335 THEREOF AND ADDING SECTION 17 -335.1 THERETO RELATING TO CITY HALL AND CITY EMPLOYEES' PARKING LOTS BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that: Section 1 . The Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amended by amending Section 17 -335 of Article 3, Chapter 3 of Title XVII thereof, to read as follows: Sec. 17 -335 City Hall Parking Lot Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in this chapter, there is hereby established a City Hall parking lot for the exclu- sive use of City officers, City vehicles, and other govern- mental officials, and for use by the general public while conducting business at governmental offices in the City Hall or the Alameda Police Station. (1) The City Manager shall designate the particular area of said City Hall parking lot that shall be used for parking purposes by City officers, City vehicles, other governmental officials, and the particular area that shall be used by the general public while conducting business at City governmental offices. Not less than fourteen (14) parking spaces shall be allocated for use by the general public; Said fourteen (14) parking spaces shall not be used by any City employee during his normal working hours; -1- 5aia rourteen (14) parking spaces shall have a maximum time limit of two (2) hours parking from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sundays and holidays excluded, and shall have sign posted stating said limits. (2) The City Manager shall designate and allocate to specific City officers, City vehicles, and other governmental officials, specific parking spaces in said City Hall parking lot, and cause to be made appropriate identification markings thereon, and shall make appropriate rules and regulations governing the use thereof. (3) The area referred to herein as the City Hall parkin lot is the parking area on the westerly side of Oak Street between the north side of the City Hall building and the south side of the Police building. (4) It shall be unlawful for any person to park or leave unattended any vehicle on any part of said City Hall parking lot unless said vehicle is properly authorized and, unless said vehicle be fully within the parking space designated for said vehicle. (5) For any violation for any provision of this section, the Police Department of the City of Alameda is hereby em- powered to issue notices to appear or citations, in the usual form and manner, as provided in the Vehicle Code of the State of California. -2- Section 2 . The Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amended by idding Section 17 -335.1 to Article 3, Chapter 3 of Title XVII .hereof, to read as follows: Sec. 17 -335.1 City Employees' Parking Lot Notwith- standing anything to the contrary contained in this chapter, there is hereby established a City employees' parking lot for the exclusive use of City employees and other authorized City of Alameda vehicles while conducting business at the City Hall or Police Department. (1) The City Manager shall designate the particular areas of said City employees'parking lot that shall be used for parking purposes by employees of the City of Alameda. (2) The City Manager shall designate by appropriate pavement markings the parking stalls within the area. Appropriate signs shall be posted at the entrance to the City employees' parking lot, which shall prohibit the general public from using the area and limit its use to City of Alameda employees and other authorized City of Alameda vehicles. (3) The area referred to herein as the City employees' parking lot is located on the south side of Lincoln Avenue at 2216 Lincoln Avenue. (4) It shall be unlawful for any person other than a City employee or operator of an authorized City of Alameda vehicle to park or leave unattended any vehicle in the City 9XIC employees' parking lot. It shall be unlawful for any person to park or leave unattended any vehicle in any part of the said City employees' parking lot unless said vehicle be fully within a designated parking space. (5) For any violation for any provision of this section the Police Department of the City of Alameda is hereby empowered to issue notices to appear or citations, in the usual form and manner as provided in the Vehicle Code of the State of California.
