AMENDING THE ALAMEDA MUNICIPAL CODE BY AMENDING CERTAIN
SECTIONS OF ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 1 OF TITLE II THEREOF,
RELATING TO ORDER OF BUSINESS AT CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that:
Section 1 . The Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amended
by amending Sections 2 -115, 2 -116 and 2- 117(2) of and by adding
Section 2- 117(8) to Article 1, Chapter 1, Title II thereof, to
read as follows:
Sec. 2 -115 Submission of Matters Before 5:00 o'clock
p.m. on the Monday of the week prior to each Council meeting
any city official, board, commission or other municipal body
having any reports, communications or other matters for
submission to the Council, shall hand the same to the City
Clerk whereupon the Clerk shall arrange a list of such
matters according to the order of business specified in
Section 2 -116 hereof, and furnish a typewritten copy of said
list to each member of the Council.
Sec. 2 -116 Order of Business Promptly at the hour
appointed for each regular meeting, the members of the
Council, the City Clerk, City Attorney, City Engineer and
City Manager shall assemble in the Council Chamber. There-
upon, business shall be taken up for consideration and
disposition in the following order:

2. Oral Communications, Agenda
3. Consent Calendar
4. Minutes
5. Written Communications
6. Hearings
7. Reports and Recommendations
8. Council Referrals
9. Council Communications
10. Resolutions
11. Introduction of Ordinances
12. Ordinances for Passage
13. Oral Communications, General
14. Filing
15. Adjournment
Sec. 2 -117 Rules of Order
(2) The item of business entitled "Oral Communications,
Agenda," is to inform the public that anyone wishing to
speak on any item on the agenda or business brought up by
Council members which is not on the agenda may do so when
the subject is brought up for discussion.
(8) Items listed under the "Consent Calendar" are con-
sidered routine and will be enacted, approved, or adopted by
E one motion, unless a request for removal for discussion or

explanation is received from the Council.

It Section 2 . This ordinance shall be in full force and
o d effect from and after the expiration of thirty (30) days from the

in regular meeting assembled on the 5th day of December, 1978, by the following
