AMENDING THE ALAMEDA MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADDING
SECTION 12 -255.1 TO ARTICLE 5, CHAPTER 2, TITLE XII
THEREOF, RELATING TO GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR SIGNS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that:
Section 1 . The Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amended
by adding Section 12 -255.1 to Article 5, Chapter 2, Title XII
thereof to read as follows:
Sec. 12- 255.1 Exception: Wood Sign A wood sign
may extend more than eighteen (18) inches from the face
of the building if the following conditions are met:
1. The sign shall have a net dimension of not less
than two (2 ") inches thick.
2. The sign shall not extend beyond the property
line on which the building sits.
3. The sign shall not be an electric sign.
4. The sign shall not be a roof sign.
t Section 2 . This ordinance shall be in full force and

effect from and after the expiration of thirty (30) days from
the date of its final passage.

I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance was
duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda
in regular meeting assembled on the 20th day of March, 1979, by the following
vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Beckam, Diament, Sherratt, Tillman, and
President Corica, (5).
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
