AMENDING THE ALAMEDA MUNICIPAL CODE BY AMENDING
SECTIONS 17- 364.1, 17 -367, 17-368 and 17 -369 THEREOF,
RELATING TO ON- STREET PARKING METERS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that:
Section 1 . The Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amended
by amending Sections 17- 364.1, 17 -367, 17 -368 and 17 -369 thereof,
to read as follows:
Sec. 17- 364.1 MAXIMUM PARKING LIMITS That the maximum
parking limits to be allowed in the various parts of said
parking meter zones shall be, and the same are hereby
determined to be, as follows:
30- MINUTE PARKING LIMIT
1 -IIOUR PARKING LIMIT
2 -HOUR PARKING LIMIT
Sec. 17 -367 ADJUSTMENT OF METERS Parking meters, when
installed, shall be so adjusted as either to show legal
parking during a period of thirty (30) minutes upon and
after the deposit of a United States five cent coin therein,
or one United States ten cent coin therein, or one United
States twenty -five cent coin therein; or sixty (60) minutes
upon and after the deposit of two United States five cent
coins therein, or one United States ten cent coin therein,
of one United States twenty -five cent coin therein; or
an
ninety (90) minutes upon and after the deposit of three
United States five cent coins therein, or one United States
five cent coin and one United States ten cent coin therein,
or one United States twenty -five cent coin therein; or one
hundred twenty (120) minutes upon and after the deposit of
four United States five cent coins therein, or two United
States five cent coins and one United States ten cent coin
therein, or two United States ten cent coins therein, or
one United States twenty -five cent coin therein.
Sec. 17 -368 METER CHANGES When any vehicle shall be
parked in any space alongside of or next to which a parking
meter is located in accordance with other provisions of this
article, the operator of said vehicle, upon so parking,
shall, and it shall be unlawful to fail to, deposit immedi-
ately one or more five cent, ten cent, or twenty -five cent
coins of the United States in such parking meter and then
turn the operating key of said meter in a clockwise direction
to the extent allowed by the proper operation of the meter.
Sec. 17 -369 UNLAWFUL TO DEPOSIT SLUGS It shall be unlaw-
ful to deposit or cause to be deposited in any parking
meter, any slug, device, or metallic substitute for five
cent, ten cent, or twenty -five cent coins of the United
States, provided, however, that should tokens be issued to
officers and employees of the City of Alameda, to be used

by them while engaging in official business for and on
behalf of the City of Alameda, a deposit of such official
token in any parking meter shall not be deemed to be a
violation of the provisions of this section.
Section 2 . This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after the expiration of thirty (30) days from
the date of its final passage.

in regular meeting assembled on the 20th day of March, 1979, by the following
