AMENDING CERTAIN PORTIONS OF THE ALAMEDA MUNICIPAL
CODE RELATING TO TRAFFIC REGULATIONS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that:
Section 1 . Subsection 70 of Section 17 -333 (All Time
and Limited No Parking) of the Alameda Municipal Code is hereby
repealed.
Section 2 . Subsection (1) of Section 17 -341 (One -Hour
Limit) of the Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amended to read
as follows:
Section 17 -341 (1) Oak Street, on the
westerly side thereof, between a point northerly
of the northerly line of Eagle Avenue running
thence northerly 135 feet.
Section 3 . Subsection (1) of Section 17 -583 (Thirty -
Five Miles Per Hour Prima Facie Limits) of the Alameda Municipal
Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
(1) Island Drive (Doolittle Drive to Mecartney Road).
(a) Island Drive, for northbound traffic, be-
tween the southerly line of Doolittle and
the northerly line of Mecartney Road.
(b) Island Drive, for southbound traffic, be-
tween the southerly line of Doolittle and
a point 980 feet north of the northerly line
of Mecartney Road.

Section 4 . This ordinance is one of great necessity
and urgency within the meaning of Section 3 -12 of the City
Charter, is introduced and passed at the same Council meeting
and shall become effective on May 2, 1979.
Section a . The facts constituting the necessity and
urgency hereof are:
1. That traffic regulations are essential for the
orderly flow and control of traffic within the City.
2. That such regulations should necessarily be
immediately effective on passage to insure that maximum
preservation of public welfare is obtained.
3. That a potential health and safety problem will
exist if such amendment is not immediately effective.
4. That, in light of such potential health and safety
problems involved, the normal delay between enactment of this
ordinance and its effective date would be injurious.
5. This Council hereby finds, determines and declares
that it is in the best interest and necessity that this ordinance
be introduced and passed at the regular meeting of the City
} Council held May 1, 1979, and that this ordinance become and
be in full force and effect May 2, 1979.
