Ordinance 2039CITY OF ALAMEDA ORDINANCE NO. 2039 New Series AMENDING THE ALAMEDA MUNICIPAL CODE BY AMENDING SECTION 17 -344.1 THEREOF RELATING TO 24- MINUTE PARKING LIMIT ON UNION STREET AND MINTURN STREET (URGENCY) BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that: Section 1 . Section 17 -344.1 (Twenty -four Minute Parking Limit) of the Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amended by adding subsections (34) and (35) thereto read as follows: (34) Minturn Street, commencing at a point in the east curb line of Minturn Street, 120 feet northerly of the north curb line of Eagle Avenue and running thence northerly 66 feet. (35) Union Street, commencing at a point in the west curb line of Union Street, 28 feet southerly of the south curb line of Clement Avenue and running thence southerly 22 feet. Section 2 . This ordinance is one of great necessity and urgency within the meaning of Section 3 -12 of the City Charter, is introduced and passed at the same Council meeting and shall become effective on February 18, 1981. Section 3 . The facts constituting the necessity and urgency hereof are: 1. That traffic regulations are essential for the orderly flow and controlof traffic within the City. -1- 2. That such regulations should necessarily be immediately effective on passage to insure that maximum preservation of public welfare is obtained. 3. That a potential health and safety problem will exist if such amendments are not immediately effective. 4. That, in light of such potential health and safety problems involved, the normal delay between enactment of this ordinance and its effective date would be injurious. 5. This Council hereby finds, determines and declares that it is in the best interest and necessity that this ordinance be introduced and passed at the regular meeting of the City Council held February 17, 1981 and that this ordinance become and be in full force afid effect February 18, 1981.
