Ordinance 2048CITY OF ALAMEDA ORDINANCE NO. 2048 New Series AMENDING THE ALAMEDA MUNICIPAL CODE BY AMENDING SECTION 15 -6210 THEREOF RELATING TO RATES FOR COLLECTION OF GARBAGE AND REFUSE AND PRESCRIBING METHOD OF COLLECTION BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that: Section 1 . Section 15 -6210 of the Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: Sec. 15 -6210 Rates for Collection Method of Collection of Surcharqe For the services of collection and disposal of garbage and refuse, as herein provided for, there shall be charged by the scavenger and collected by him from the persons enumerated in Sections 15 -621 and 15 -622 hereof, rates not to exceed the following schedule: (a) One (1) collection per week, of one (1) thirty (30) gallon, or smaller, garbage receptacle, per dwelling unit, $6.50 per month; (b) Each additional such receptacle collected at the same time, $5.70 per month; (c) Refuse and rubbish removal at the rate of $6.50 per cubic yard; (d) Refuse and rubbish removal at the rate of $13.00 per compacted yard. (e) All persons 65 years of age and over shall be entitled to receive a ten percent (10 %) reduction in the rates established under (a), (b) and (c) above. (f) The scavenger shall collect on behalf of the City a surcharge fee, and remit same to City within one - hundred (100) days of billing, equal to ten (10) cents out of each of the amounts set out in subsections (a), (b) and (c) and twenty (20) cents out of the amount set out in subsection (d) above. Ninety percent (90 %) of said funds shall be used solely to pay the cost of sealing the dis- posal site (including monies already borrowed from the Tideland Trust Fund) and ten percent (10 %) for Low - Income Assistance (for costs of collection). o_ 0 Section 2 .
