AMENDING THE ALAMEDA MUNICIPAL CODE BY AMENDING
SECTION 17 -216 THEREOF RELATING TO DEMONSTRATION
OR DISPLAY OF VEHICLES FOR SALE (EMERGENCY)
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that:
Section 1 . The Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amended
by amending Section 17 -216 thereof to read:
Sec. 17 -216 Parking for Demonstration. It shall
be unlawful for the owner or operator of any vehicle to
park the same upon any street in this City, or in any
municipal parking lot or other parking area owned by the
City, for the purpose of demonstrating or displaying it
for sale.
Section 2 . This ordinance is one of great necessity and
urgency within the meaning of Section 3 -12 of the City Charter,
is introduced and passed at the same Council meeting and shall
become effective on June 3, 1981.
Section 3 . The facts constituting the necessity and
urgency hereof are:
1. That traffic and parking regulations are essential
for the orderly flow and control of vehicles within the City.
2. That such regulations should necessarily be immediately
effective on passage to insure that maximum preservation of
public welfare is obtained.

3. That a potential health and safety problem will exist
if such amendments are not immediately effective.
4. That, in light of such potential health and safety

problems involved, the normal delay between enactment of this
ordinance and its effective date would be injurious.
5. This Council hereby finds, determines and declares
that it is in the best interest and necessity that this ordinance
be introduced and passed at the regular meeting of the City
Council held June 2, 1981, and that this ordinance become
and be in full force and effect June 3, 1981.

City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 2nd of June, 1981,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Diament, Gorman, Sherratt, Stone, and president Corica - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
