AUTHORIZING SALE OF CERTAIN CITY -OWNED REAL PROPERTY
TO ARZELIA G. POWELL AND ROBERTA K. WRIGHT
(1317 PACIFIC AVENUE)
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda is the owner of certain
real property situate in the City of Alameda, County of Alameda,
State of California, as hereinafter described; and
WHEREAS, the aforesaid real property is no longer required
by the City of Alameda for municipal purposes, and public con-
venience and necessity require the disposal of said real property;
and
WHEREAS, said real property was offered for sale to other
governmental agencies for sixty days, as required by law, prior
to being offered to the general public; and
WHEREAS, Arzelia G. Powell and Roberta K. Wright submitted
their bid offering to purchase said property for the sum of $85,000,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ALAMEDA:
Section 1 . That the City of Alameda transfer unto the
said Arzelia G. Powell and Roberta K. Wright all that certain
real property commonly designated as 1317 Pacific Avenue, situated
in the City of Alameda, County of Alameda, State of California,
particularly described as:
A portion of Block A as shown on "Map of 144 Lots
in Page Tract, Alameda Co." filed February 25, 1874,
in Book 6 of Maps, Page 7, Official Records of
Alameda County, and more particularly described
as follows:
The eastern 16.67 feet of Lot 8, as said lot is
shown on said map.
The western 16.67 feet of Lot 9, as said lot is
shown on said map.
The eastern 33.34 feet of the western 66.67 feet
of Lot 13, as said lot is shown on the above -
mentioned map.
Containing 0.115 Acres, more or less.
for and in consideration of the sum of Eighty -five Thousand
Dollars ($85,000) to be paid in cash to the City of Alameda by
said Arzelia G. Powell and Roberta K. Wright coincident with
the tender of a grant deed conveying said property. Escrow,
title insurance and other charges, if any, shall be paid by said
purchaser.
Section 2 . That the Mayor of the City of Alameda is
hereby authorized and directed to execute, for and on behalf
of the City of Alameda, a grant deed conveying said real property
to Arzelia G. Powell and Roberta K. Wright, and the City Clerk
is directed to attest the same.
Section 3 . This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after the expiration of thirty (30) days from

I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 16th of November, 1982,
by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Gorman, Sherratt, Stone and President Corica - 4.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Councilman Diament - 1.
