AMENDING THE ALAMEDA MUNICIPAL CODE TO PROVIDE FOR
CERTAIN ANIMAL SHELTER SERVICE FEE INCREASES
that: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA
Section 1 . The Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amended
by amending Section 2 -522 thereof to read:
Sec. 2 -522 Fees t o be Charqed by Supervising Animal
Control Officer The Supervising Animal Control Officer
shall charge the fees hereinafter set forth in connection
with the impounding and feeding, caring and removal of
animals:
(a) Imnoundinq
(1) For every dog, the sum of $15.00
(2) For every cat, the sum of ............. 10.00
(3) For every horse, mule, ass, bull, ox,
cow or calf, pony, the sum of ......... 25.00
(4) For every other animal not otherwise
provided for in this article, the
actual cost of the service.
(5) Second impounding of same animal
within twelve (12) month period,
said fees shall be doubled.
(6) Third impounding of same animal
within twelve (12) month period,
said fees shall be tripled.
(b) Feedinq /Carinq
(1) For each dog, per day ................. 3.00
(2) For each cat, per day ................. 2.50
(3) For each horse, mule, ass, bull,
ox, cow or calf, pony, per day ........ 9.00
(4) For each other animal not otherwise
provided for in this article, the
actual cost for this service.
(c) Adoption
(1) Dogs, the sum of ...................... 10.00
(2) Puppies, under four months old,
the sum of ............................ 10.00
(3) Cats, the sum of ...................... 10.00
(4) Cats, under six months old,
the sum of ............................ 10.00
(d) Soay /Neuter Deposit
(1) A cash deposit of $25.00 shall be required
of any person adopting any unspayed /unneutered
dog or cat from the Animal Shelter. Such deposit
shall be forwarded to the veterinarian or clinic
of the owner's choice upon receipt by the Animal
Shelter of a notice from such veterinarian
or clinic that such animal has been surgically
sterilized or otherwise rendered unable to
reproduce. This section shall not apply to
any person redeeming his own animal.
(e) License Fee
(1) For every unlicensed dog impounded, the pre-
vailing license fee shall be paid prior to
releasing said animal to its owner.

Section 2 . The Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amended
by amending Section 9 -148 thereof to read:
Sec. 9 -148 Right to Duplicate Tag Whenever a
tag issued for the then current year has been stolen,
or lost, the owner or possessor of the dog for which
the same was issued may on the payment of Two Dollars
($2.00) and on making and subscribing to an affidavit

or such loss and tiling the same, receive a duplicate
tag for the remaining portion of the then current year.
Section 3 . This ordinance shall be in full force and
` effect from and after the expiration of thirty (30) days from
\� the date of its final passage.
