Ordinance 3051CITY OF ALAMEDA ORDINANCE NO. 3051 New Series AMENDING THE ALAMEDA MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADDING SECTION 2 -67 RELATING TO PREVAILING WAGES The City Council of the City of Alameda DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 2 -67 of the Alameda Municipal Code, entitled "Prevailing wages," is hereby added to read as follows: 2 -67 Prevailing wages. a. Contracts for public works projects, as defined in section 1720 et seq. of the California Labor Code shall be subject to prevailing wage law (Labor Code § 1770 et seq.), including projects that are solely funded by the City of Alameda. Any notice inviting bids for such public works projects shall include notification of the provisions of this section. b. The provisions of subdivision (a) shall not apply to projects involving the lease of existing buildings at the former Naval Air Station Alameda, commonly referred to as Alameda Point, where the lessee is making improvements valued at no more than $100,000.00. c. The provisions of subdivision (a) shall not apply to projects which have existing leases at Alameda Point with effective dates prior to August 2, 2012. Section 2. This Ordinance will not result in a significant effect on the environmental and is exempt from CEQA under Guidelines section 15061(b)(3). Section 3. It is the declared intent of the City Council of Alameda that if any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase, or provision of this ordinance is held invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity or unconstitutionality shall not be so construed as to render invalid or unconstitutional the remaining provision of this ordinance. Section 4. This ordinance and the rules, regulations, provisions, requirements, orders, and matters established and adopted hereby shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the expiration of thirty (30) days from the date of its final passage.
