AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE
GRANT CONTRACT BETWEEN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA
DEPARTMENT OF BOATING AND WATERWAYS AND THE
CITY OF ALAMEDA
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda has been awarded grant approval from
the State of California Department of Boating and Waterways in the sum of
$13,792 for the purpose of purchasing equipment for existing marine patrol
units; and
WHEREAS, a contract has been prepared by the Department of Boating
and Waterways which requires the signature by a City representative and a
resolution by the City Council authorizing the signature; and
WHEREAS, the State of California Department of Boating and
Waterways is funding the cost of purchasing new and/or replacement search
and rescue equipment and floating docks to enhance the delivery of marine
patrol and enforcement services to the maritime community in and around
Alameda waterways with no requirement for local government matching funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Alameda that the Council authorize the City Manager to execute the
Equipment and Operation Contract between the State of California and the City
of Alameda in the amount of $13,792.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and
regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda during the Regular
Meeting of the City Council on the 3rd day of July 2007, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers deHaan, Gilmore, Matarrese, Tam
and Mayor Johnson - 5.
NOES: None.
