ADOPTING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND CALLING
FOR BIDS FOR THE FIRE STATION-VILLAGE V, BAY
FARM ISLAND PROJECT, NO. P.W. 8-89-13, AND
DIRECTING CITY CLERK TO ADVERTISE SAME
WHEREAS, plans and specifications for the Fire Station-
Village V, Bay Farm Island, Project, No P.W. 8-89-13 have been
prepared by the architectural firm of Hallenbeck, Chamorrow &
Associates; and
WHEREAS, this project consists of construction of a
10,000 square foot fire station to house three front-line
medical/fire apparatus and living quarters for the personnel; and
WHEREAS, it is proposed to open bids on February 6, 1990,
and to award the contract February 20, 1990, with work to start in
March, 1990; and
WHEREAS, the contract allows eight (8) months to complete
the project.; and
WHEREAS, the project will be funded from the Mello Roos
District, and no general fund cost or appropriation is involved;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Alameda that said specifications be, and the same are,
hereby approved and adopted; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of
Alameda will receive sealed bids up to the hour of 2:00 o'clock
p.m. on Tuesday, February 6, 1990, for furnishing to the City of
all labor, materials, machinery, tools and equipment necessary for
the work hereinabove referred to, in accordance with said
Specifications and Plans. Bids must be presented to the City and
plainly marked on the outside, "Proposal for Fire Station-Village
V, Bay Farm Island Project", or similar designation.
Contract, if awarded, will be awarded subject to the
provisions of the Charter of the City of Alameda, to the
responsible bidder who submits the lowest and best bid. The right
is reserved to reject any or all bids.
Said Specifications may be had by any prospective bidder
on application to the office of the Director of Public Works, in
the City Hall, Alameda California.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to advertise, in the

Alameda Times-Star, a notice calling for sealed bids, in accordance
with the provisions of this resolution and of said Specifications
and Plans.
