Resolution 12098CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 12098 AUTHORIZING SUBMITTAL OF GRANT APPLICATION FOR CALIFORNIA TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION PROPOSITION 116 FUNDS FOR 1) ALAMEDA GATEWAY FERRY TERMINAL UPGRADES, AND 2) ALAMEDA MUNICIPAL FERRY VESSEL PURCHASE, AND 3) BAY FARM ISLAND BIKE BRIDGE PROJECT WHEREAS, pursuant to the rules and regulations that have been adopted by the California Transportation Commission in accordance with the provisions of Proposition 116 legislation, an eligible claimant wishing to receive an allocation from this source shall file its application with the appropriate transportation planning agency; and WHEREAS, funds will be necessary for Alameda Gateway Ferry Terminal upgrades to prevent further deterioration of the shoreline and to provide patron amenities such as daycare facilities, and full enclosure of the terminal; and WHEREAS, funds will be required for the lease/purchase of two ferry vessels to operate the Alameda/Oakland ferry service in a competitive and cost effective manner, and WHEREAS, funds will be required for design and construction of the Bay Farm Island Bike Bridge. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY> OF ALAMEDA that said Council hereby authorizes staff to apply for California Transportation Commission Proposition 116 funds for 1) 14:- Alameda Gateway Intermodal Terminal Facilities, and, 2) Alameda! Municipal Ferry Vessel Purchase, and 3) Bay Farm Island Bike Bridge-<'' Project. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said Council hereby guarantees matching funds for said projects. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the sixteenth of April, 1991, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Councilmembers Arnerich, Camicia, Lucas, Roth and President Withrow - 5.
