REJECTING ALL BIDS AND AUTHORIZING CITY STAFF TO PERFORM
CONSTRUCTION BY FORCE ACCOUNT PURSUANT TO SECTION 3-15
OF THE CITY CHARTER, FOR ALTERATION TO NORTHSIDE STORM
WATER PUMP STATION, NO. P.W. 5-91-3
WHEREAS, on May 21, 1991, the Council of the City of
Alameda adopted the plans and specifications and called for bids
for Alteration to Northside Storm Water Pump Station, No. P.W. 5-
91-3; and
WHEREAS, bids were opened June 13, 1991, with four bids
submitted, each bid submitted exceeding the available project
budget of $100,000.00; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 3-15 of the City
Charter, the Council may determine that public work or improvements
can be constructed more economically utilizing City staff; and
WHEREAS, City Staff can perform the public work at a
price below the lowest responsible bid and within the original
Engineer's estimate; and
WHEREAS, the City staff shall perform work on said
project by force account and without a contract.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Council of
the City of Alameda that said Council hereby rejects all bids
submitted for Alteration to Northside Storm Water Pump Station, No.
P.W. 5-91-3.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that pursuant to Section 3-15 ofii\„I
the City Charter, the Council hereby authorizes City Staff to
perform construction of said project without contract.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the second day of
July, 1991, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Arnerich, Camicia, Lucas, Roth and
President Withrow - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
ABSTENTIONS:
