PRESCRIBING MEMBERSHIP, TERM OF OFFICE, REMOVAL,
QUALIFICATION AND VOTING PERTAINING TO THE
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION
WHEREAS, at the June 19, 1990 City of Alameda City
Council meeting, the City of Alameda City Council established the
Economic Development Commission, pursuant to City of Alameda
Ordinance No. 2489, New Series; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 2489, New Series has been amended
to state that Membership, Term of Office, Removal, Qualification
and Voting Terms shall be set by resolution;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that the Membership, Term of Office, and Removal
procedures of the Economic Development Commission shall read as
follows:
Membership, Term of Office, Removal. The Commission
shall consist of nine (9) members, five (5) seats shall represent
banking/finance, retail/commercial, real estate/land development,
manufacturing/ industrial and marine/waterfront-related sectors.
The remaining seats shall represent the community-at-large.
All members shall, upon nomination of the Mayor, be
appointed by the City Council. The term of the members shall be
(4) years and thereafter until the successor of such member is
appointed and qualified. A vacancy in the office of any such
member shall be filled for the unexpired term by appointment in the
manner hereinabove set forth.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Alameda that the Qualification and Voting procedures of the
Economic Development Commission shall read as follows:
Qualification. Voting. All members of said Commission
shall, at the time of their appointment and continuously during
their incumbency, be residents of the City. The vote of five (5)
members shall be necessary for any action of the Commission. Five
(5) members of the Commission shall constitute a quorum.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution shall be in
full force and effect upon the effective date of the amendment to
City of Alameda Ordinance No. 2489, New Series.

I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the
City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the third of
September, 1991, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Arnerich, Camicia, Lucas, Roth
and President Withrow - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
ABSTENTIONS: None.
