FOR TEE PURPOSE' OF A NAVAL BASE.
WHEREAS, R special election was called and ordered to be held in the City of
Alameda, State of California, on Tuesday', the eighth day of May, 1923, for the puzpore
of submitting to the qualified electors of said city the preposition to give, grant,
convey and alien forever to the United States of America all those certain tide and
submerged lands situate, lying and being in the haid city and heretofore particularly
described in Resolution No 631, calling and providing for said election,
AND WHEREAS, said. election was held and conducted and the votes cast thereat
received and canvassed and the returns therobf made in time, form and manner as re-
ouiredsby ion
AND WiLSREAS, the council of the City of Alameda assombled at its regular
place of meeting in the ootincil chamber at the city hall in said city on Tnesday, May
15, 1923, for the purpose of canvassing the returns of said snocial election, and said
returns having boon canvassed in time, form and manner as required by law, now therefore
IT IS UEPEEY RESOLVED, n'1-=::s AND DECLARED, and said council findo as
fellows:
lot - That said special election was held and conducted, and the votes thereat
received and canvassed, and the returns thereof made a't declared in time, form and manner
as required by law and oalt call;
2n1 - That there were forty-five election precincts established for the purpose
of holding said special election, and that the vote in each of sail precincts aar as

That the total vote cast in said city for and against said proposition wns
as follows:
YTS - 3672. 20 - 2499.
3d - That a majority of all the electors of said city voting upon said prop-
osition voted in favor thereof, and that aaid proposition has Teen authorized and ap-
proved by oaid eleotora, wherefore the mayor of said city is hereby authorized and
airected to make, eKehute and deliver a deed. for and on behalf of said city, giving,grp,rting
conveying and alienating said lands to the United States of America forever for the
puroose of R naval laesd including yards, docks, repair shops and all other public
works connected with tha naval establishment of the United Ctates; provfaea, however,
that unless the actual work of development is counenced thereon before January 1, 1920,
said land stall revert to said atty.
I, the undersigned, hereby oertiTy that the foregoing Resolution was duly
and regularly introatheed and adapted by Inc Council of the City of Alameda in rognlar
meeting assembled on the 15th day of May 1923, by the following vote, te wit:
