RESOLUTION 011 THE HOLING THAT EMPLOYEES OF PUBLICLY OWEED
UTILITIES ARE SUBJECT TO INCOME TAX.
WHEREAS,
thcl authorities at Washington have recently made a ruling that the
salaries of municipal employees of publicly owned utilities are subject to income tax,
not only in the futare but for seven years last past, and demands have bean made on said
employees for the payment of income tax back to the year 1916, now therefore, be it
'RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that it is the sense of the Council
that the retroactive feature of said raling is unjust and unfair, and that our ropresen-
tatiNes in Congress be, and they are hereby requested to try to obtain a recision of the
retroactive feature of said ruling cr, failing in that, to secure the necessary legisla-
tion to that effect.
RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution be sent to our representatives in
Congress.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and
regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda, in adjourned regu-
larnmeeting assembled on the 13th day of January, 1925, by the following vote, to wit:
