Resolution 00865RESOLUTION NO, 865, PROTESTING AGAINST USE OF GOVERNMENT ISLAND AS AN AIR BASE. WHEREAS, articles have appeared in the public press to the effect that the United States government proposes to make use of Government Island as an air tase, AND WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the Council of the City of Alameda that the United States government is restricted to the use of said island for shipbuilding purposes according to the letter and spirit of the existing lease, now therefore be it RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Alameda that said Council most respectfully, but emphatically, protests against the United States government's making use of said island for an air base, or fOt any other purpose, without the consent of said City of Alameda teing first had and obtained. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alarede in regular meeting assembled on the 3rd day of March, 1925, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: Councilmen Latham, Neiss, Probst and President Otis, (4).
