Resolution 00867RESOLUTION NO. 867. OPPOSING SENATE CONSTITrTIONAL AIENDMITT NO. 7. WHEREAS, a resolution ie now pending in the State Senate known as Senate Constitutional Amendment No. 7, which proposes to amend the Constitution so as to compel the payment of taxes by publiely owned utilities; AND WHEREAS, the adoption of this Constitutional Amendment would impose a tax on the City of Alameda of Twenty-six Thousand Dollars per year, now therefore, be it RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Alameda that in the opinion of said Council the imposition of such a tax by the State would impose an unwarranted and unfair burden on the people of Alameda; RESOLVED, that our representatives in the Legislature be and they are hereby requested to use every honorable means in their power to prevent the approval of this Constitutional Amendment by the Legislature. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolation was duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 3rd day of March, 1925, ty the following vote, to wit: AYES: Councilmen Latham, Neiss, Probst, and Freeident Otis, (4).
