WHEDEAS, an agreomant was entarea. into on Jane 17, 1925, between. Magnus
Hollmsted and Christina Hollestea, his wife, of Ern City of Oakland, County of
Ak3meda, State of dalifMadrimw hereinafter called the "owners" and City of Alamada,
a manividal evaporation, of said. state, hereinaftvr called. the 7city", Waereby said
(nITIOTS agreed tn dedicate the wweessary land for enablink the opening of Calhoun
and Clay streetn, lwAvven Broadway and degent strnets, in. said city,
AND WHEREAS, the Connell of the City of Alameda subsequently reached the
conclusion that publiv interest and convenience did net demand the opening wad ex-
tension.. of Clay Street but that their original resolutivn Should. be wodaTiod so az
to apply to Calhoun Stneet only,
1D WHEREAS, saia owners have delivered a grant of easement Ciller the lands
necessary to enable an extension of both cf said streets, wherefore, in order to clear
the title of said "0.11e32.9 to the land . which would constitute an extension of Clay Street,
which was not taken by the city, it ispiecessary to grant said owners a quitclaim deed
therefor, now therefore be it
RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Alameda that, in consideration of the
premises, it is hereby ordered that the city ouiteladm to all those lands embraced within
the grant of easement issued by said owners to the City of Alameda which would constitute
an extension of Clay Street as aforementioned, which Baia lands are more particularly 4-
scribed es follows, to wit:
Commencing at a. point on the westerly line of Broadway distant northerly
thereon 174.21 ft., from the northerly line of Ba:,7 Island. Avenue and running
thence northerly along said westerly line of Broadway 50 ft., to a point;
thence at right anEdes westerly 140.17 ft., to a point, thence at right
engdes southerly 50 ft., to a point; thence at right angles easterly 140.17
ft. , to the westerly line of Broadway and the point of commencement.
dESOLVEL PUMTHER, that the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized and direutea to
execute said riaitclaim deed to said owners.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution wan duly and
regularly introduced and adopted by the council of the city of Alameda, in regular moot-
ing assembled on the to day of May, 1926, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Latham, Neiss, Noble, Traver and President Otis, (5).
NOES: None.
