PROTESTING AGAINST THE APPROVAL OF ANY
TRANSBAY BRIDGE PLANS WHICH WOULD INTER
FERE WITH OR ELOCKADE THE ALAMEDA nAama.
mEaREAs, public interest and necessity demads the construction of a trensbay
bridge between San Francisco and the east bay cities, propositions for which are re-
ceiving serious consideration by the authorities, and
WHEREAS, some of the plans suggested provide for the termination o± a bridge
at a point on this side of the bay which would have the effect of blockading the San
Antonio Estuary, now therefore be it
ESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Alameda, that, while said council is
anxious to see a transbay bridge constructed, at the earliest possible date, it most
earnestly protests against the approval of any plans therefor which provide for its
termination at a point on this side of the bay that Would have the effect of blockading
or interfering with the use of the San Antonio Estuary.
RESOLVED, that one copy of this resolution te sent to Major John W. N. Schulz,
C. S. Engineers Office, k:,irst District, 401 Custom House, San 7.:orancisco, California, and
another copy to the Board of Supervisors of the City and County of San Francisco.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly
and regularly introduced and adopted by the Coanoil of the City of Alameda in regular
meeting assembled an the 18th day of January, 1927, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Latham, Neiss, Noble, Traver and President Otis, (5).
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
